I suppose when you get to that power level it mostly depends on who gets the drop on who. Iceman has been shown able to affect people's functionality by creating ice crystals in their brain, Magneto has been shown affecting the iron in people's blood.

Either way, first shot wins.

Is mystic arcana worth a read.

Does he think Mags could beat Thor? If so, he's cracked

You'd think so but it never really seemed to me that if it did increase someone's power then it wasn't by a wide margin.

Like Sodam Yat of the future fighting Superboy Prime. He honestly did better in their first encounter with just one ring, then when he had multiple.

while i could see not having to charge, i dont see how it makes you more powerful

What I mean is, the power/charge of a GL ring is not infinite. Thus, having multiple GL rings means you have access more overall power to put into your constructs - thus making them more impressive/longer lasting.

Example: When Hal 'remade' the city with one ring:

http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/1532239/g1.jpg.html
http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/1532240/g2.jpg.html
http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/1532241/g3.jpg.html

As you can see, it phased out after a very short while, because his ring ran out of juice. However, if Hal were to replicate that feat with numerous rings, he'd be able to sustain it for much longer, because he'd have access to more power.

----

Hell, even Sinestro recognzed the fact that Hal with several rings would annihilate him:

That's why Hal shed the extra rings - so it would be a more equal battle.

I do agree with more rings equaling longer lasting durations of power.

If we're talking about uber-Iceman, though, wouldn't his entire body be ice? As in, no iron.

water is a better conductor than even copper wires are. i guess magneto can create a magnetic field surrounding and within bobby that can override his control over his own body.

And H2O is paramagnetic anyways - so a strong magnetic field could still affect it.

Water does not conduct electricity if thats what yall discussing.

pure water doesn't, but there's not much pure water in nature. We were discussing magnetism though not electricity.

Manifest Destiny Reading Order?

I've googled and googled but nothing seems to have anything definitive.

The wikipedia page is useless.

Can someone help me out with a definitive listing of the reading order? Thanks!

Has Marvel Ares ever appeared has Mars

Help me understand "Manifest Destiny"

I'm just getting back into all of this. When I was a kid...issue 50 was followed by issue 51, then 52 and 53 etc etc.

I just finished Messiah Complex and I friggin loved it.

But right now I'm buried in a pile of books trying to take everything in. This whole Manifest Destiny thing is driving me nuts.

I'm having the most trouble with the books titled "X-Men Manifest Destiny" or "X-Men Manifest Destiny Nightcrawler". I can get the synopsis of what the plot of these books are...but there's something I think I'm not getting!

Not the ones that have the little X with "manifest destiny" in them like
Legacy #215 or whatever.

Here's what I can gather:

Cable is following the baby story, Legacy will deal with Professor X and
his injuries, Uncanny will deal with the X-Men in general and X-Force seems
to kick ass.

But what are these other books seen in the link? Do I want to go buy
those, too?

What about X-Factor? Young X-Men? Astonishing?

Help me out here!! 😄

Also...Will Divided We Stand be a crossover event?

Some of the books that seems to deal with Manifest Destiny have a Divided We Stand mark on them.

I'm really confused, I'm probably an idiot. Who knew reading comic books would be so confusing. Maybe I'm just too old for this, or maybe I'm just over-thinking it all.

Either way, help me out here!

Are bio's/handbook's/file's considered cannon/reliable evidence

don't bother with manifest destiny if you're only looking for the central plots. it doesn't really matter atm.

if you read uncanny, legacy, and x-force, you should be fine.

x-factor, astonishing, cable and young x-men are meh, but if you really want to read em, do so.

divided we stand is a crossover between the dark avengers and the x-men, from what i hear...

Awesome, thanks dude.

I actually like that Cable series. I've read three so far and I liked it a lot. I mean, the whole point of Messiah Complex was the baby so I really wanted to know how she turns out.

But I understand, to each their own.

You liked Cable?

In my opinion it was one of the worst X-titles out there, as far as story AND art goes.

Has Mr Majestic become an insane dictator

In Teen Titans Origins and Omens, who is that Cassie is kissing in the end, and is that Static Shock in the bottom left corner??

Yes, that would be Static Shock- he was kind of a major plot character in "Terror Titans," and it looks like he's going to be a big influence on the Teen Titans; he was the number one contender in the "Dark Side Club" fighting ring.

As to who Cassie was kissing, I don't have the issue with me, so I couldn't guess.
