Does anyone know anything about Monguls physiology to explain why he's so strong and invulnerable. I would appreciate it if you keep the traditional superficial "Its a comic it doesn't matter" comments to a minimal. I often thing that the ability to sustain insane injuries simply "comes with superhuman durability". If you read/remember Black Adam's crusade in WW3/52 he took a lot of injuries that should have felled anyone with human physiology. Arrows straight into the chest and some of the injuries he suffered at the scientist crews' hands were worth mentioning. Like having an area the size of a football field simply expand inside his brain. Thor has also on occasion suffered injuries like that, losing an arm/eye, having every muscle in his body ripped and broken.
While this doesn't offer any exact explanation as to why Mongul was able to survive these things, it shows that there is a trend of superdurable/strong guys surviving ridiculous injuries.
