Comic Book Questions

I didn't know you were a SW fan, Galan. Cool.

Anyway, I heard someone say that Galactus is as far above the likes of Odin and Zeus as Surfer is above the likes of Spider-Man and Daredevil. What is your opinion on this claim?

^ annihilation

/topic

In Annihilation he was beaten by Aegis and Tenebrous and was almost near death for the rest of the series

That feat didn't occur in a comic, it occurred in a novel - but no, the novel did not outright say "Vader was 'x' light years away from Xizor." However, it did tell us which planet Vader was on, and which planet Xizor was on when the feat was preformed... And thanks to my level of nerdery, I just happen to have a map of the Star Wars galaxy on hand:

(Coruscant and Tatooine are circled in red.)

As you can see, the planets are roughly half a galaxy apart. So "tens of thousands of light years" is pretty accurate, considering most galaxies are a few hundred thousand light years across. But like I mentioned before, the most impressive part of that feat isn't just that Vader was using his TK to force-choke Xizor across such gargantuan distances - it's that he was doing so while enormously holding back.

That feat makes Marvel/DC telekinetics like Nate Grey, God Cable, Maxima, Hector Hammond, Despero (etc, etc.) look like weak feebs.

This post is beautiful 🤓

Its not that big of a difference. But they are the same in that odin can really not do damage to galactus, and spiderman can not really do damage to surfer.

Maxima's homeplanet, Almerac, is 100 trillion lightyears away from Earth according to Adam Strange. While on Earth, she coordinated an astral battle with a task force of her psychic disciples to take down Brainwave II. Not a TK feat, but still.
That's a telepathy feat. I wasn't comparing her/them to Vader in that department.

Some of the novels are pure excellence.

Are you mocking my nerdery? bat

Except the ones written by KJA and Traviss

Does anyone have the image from the end of the Messiah Complex where the X-Men are standing there after Xavier's body has disappeared?

I have a question. Did Johns ever retcon that thing in green lantern rebirth where kyle essentially told ollie that it hurt like hell every single time to use a green ring? Because it seems like they've totally ignored that since then. Does it depend on the ring or...?

I realise that. I did say 'not TK, but still', didn't I? I was comparing distances. Besides, the original question was:

what the best feat with the force that any character has preformed?

The Force isn't just TK.

Anything written by Stover = gold.

Obviously. That's why I listed a few different types of high-end, force-related feats.

However, where telekinesis alone is concerned, Vader choking Xizor from tens of thousands of light years away (while greatly holding back) is the single best TK feat in the Star Wars universe that I know of... And like I said before: that particular feat makes many of the telekinetics in Marvel/DC look like children in comparison.

That's fine. As long as you realise that in the context of the original question that was asked, your pumping of Vader's tires by taking the discussion into a TK only direction is a bit of a red herring.

Not at all. You obviously misunderstood the context.

In response to the original question, I posted 3 of the best all-around feats I could think of in the SW universe. Then the same guy who originally asked that question, asked this question:

one question though concerning #2. how do you know courscant and tatooine are "tens of thousands of lightyears" apart? does the comic say so?

And I answered that question appropriately. You, in turn, responded to my subsequent post (which, again, was directed solely at that question) with your "the force isn't just about TK" rant... Which had nothing to do with me posting what I did. So if anyone is responsible for misconstruing things, it's you.

Err. You're flattering yourself just a tad. I'm not sure where you're getting 'rant' from.

I enjoyed it. The story was okay to good, but I got a kick out of the B & C list characters.

Rann/Thanagar: Holy War was also good, imo.
