Yeah. But his fighting experience never seem to help when hes fighting the Hulk.
And Superman Took blows from Imperiex a being that destroyed galaxies. Superman and General Zod blows was so devastating that they were causing earthquakes. Hes way more durable then you think. And is as slow as a snail, once Supes speedblitzs him the fight is over. 🙂

It always helps. It's hard as hell to fight a guy that can become a million times stronger than you are. Thor always holds his own, or wins
Thor fights Surtur, a being that destroyed galaxies. He takes blows from a suit of armor with unlimited strength and takes blows from him. He's way more durable than you think.
A speedblitz won't work. Thor can react, and counter.
Any thing from Mjolnir will seriously hurt Superman.
I don't count him out of the fight. He CAN win against Thor.
It's just that Superman has weaknesses.
One is magic. Thor is a god. Mjolnir is powerful magic. That's trouble for Supes.

The Hammer really in the comics never adds much Thor always seems to do as well without. Do you remeber the one with the space phantom where he had Thor seperated from his hammer and trapped in Limbo it was sometime round about Thor 280 first series. I can never really work out what the hammer adds 😕 most things he throws it at it bounces off. Do you remeber Thor 302 with the maths geek who created constructs that pretty much held Mjolinir. Sorry its just never really impressed me that much. I l am a big Thor fan, he was one of the first comics I started reading but...............

How could he react to FTL speeds I never seen Thor move that fast against anybody.
OK count Nefaria first appearance with Super speed etc. written by the greatest American comic writer Jim Shooter(If you don't know who he is find out) speed blitzes Thor. He is nowhere near supes speed. Another superman copy is the original Squadron Sinister Hyperion also consistently beats Thor to the punch. Hulk and Thor trade blows so they must be about the same speed in combat. Remember what speed Demon the one with swords attached to body armour does to the Hulk re: speed.
Supes speed feats are well documented as are his reflexes he catches bullets 😄
when i said their speeds were close, i meant over long distances because thor can 'magic' the distance away. supes's reaction and battle speed is WAY better than thor's, which is why i say he'd win his fair share of these battles. he'd also win if thor didn't have the hammer. and i agree with you whirly - striking supes with the hammer isn't gonna do much more than punching him would - it's the hammer's other abilities (a channel for lightning, a channel for godforce) that i think give thor the slight edge here. as i said, thor's greatest strength is supes big weakness.
to say thor fights and reacts at supes's speed however, is simply wrong. supes's is moving so quickly in this scan that it appears as though he has not even moved! thor is NO WHERE NEAR that level. hell, that would be tough for quicksilver to pull off! but even spidey has danced around thor in the past. (and your nefaria reference is a perfect example whirly! damn, that was a great fight! maybe my favouite cliffhanger EVER when thor appeared at the end of that avengers issue then we had to wait to see what he could do against CN! great, great stuff!!)

That was a fantastic issue, but I Jim Shooter had used that exact same cliffhanger wih Thor against Graviton a few issues earlier. It worked very well though

7/10 Thor... Firstly, magic kills Supes good.
Secondly, the speed that Thor does have, coupled with his superior fighting skills, is plenty for him to be able to hit Supes once. And that's all he's gonna need. (see "firstly"😉
Thirdly, just because Thor fights Surfer does not mean he is faster than light, Surfer holds back more than pretty much everybody, and rarely ever uses his speed. Supes isn't light speed either... FLASH is basically light speed, Supes is not Flash.
