talking about jedi religon

has anybody heard about 'jedi' becoming a religon

Nope but, if that happens, I'll be founding a SITH religion 😈

Yeah I've heard about this...there's a lot of nutcases out there that put that down on the census for their actual religion. Enough that it may some day, if the numbers climb, have to be recognized as an official religion...however this just proves how idiotic people are. Its a movie. Yes, its very entertaining, and its a great movie, but its a movie....

Not that I support the Jedi religion or its followers, but strictly speaking, Christianity is a book. Just a book.

This is a commonly held myth. No census response can create a religion.

There is an officially organized Jedi and Sith religion. The Jedi religion has no formal site (it was deleted a while ago). However, the official Sith religion's site is: www.sithism.com

Sithism is cool. In fact, I consider myself a real life Sith.

There was a Jediism website but I think it doesn't work anymore... no more money to run the site i suppose...

this is ok in my book!! if u could actually USE THE FORCE IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!!

And why not? A religion is a belief, you can say anything is a religion.

Now if you had worded that as saying: "This is a commonly held myth. No census response can create an officially recognised religion." Then it would have had some credibility.

This "Sithism" religion is quite silly. Here is a list of their "aims;"

EDIT- oops, guess im not supposed to copy these without consent

I saw it on MTV that this was a myth on the Real Life Myth Show.

where i live I've seen little kids and adults walking in Jedi gear

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. If someone wants to follow something based on a movie I say let them.

Why call it "Sithism" and "Jediism" thats very... detracting from their cool names...

om my gawd. have you been to that site? they claim that" The jedi and sith have been around for years, but noone (not even themselves) knew about them until GL made SW..." they also want to go to parties with jedi, they... just go to "Site aims" and you'll see...

What's wrong with 'Jedism' becoming a religion?
True, it would be a religion based off of a movie, but honestly, where do you think Lucas got the inspiration from?

I can already see influences ranging from Japanese Samurai and Christianity. The Golden Rule, turn the other cheek...etc. Do your very best and strive to put others before yourself.

I understand that criticizing something is easier than trying to comprehend it, but it just goes to show how truly uneducated some people are.

well, this "jedi's" have taken it to a different level. they've left the SW field and are into the "pot smokers" world, some of their beliefes are just plain stupid.

hmm i really think the whole think was started right from the beginning..from the first film episode IX, a new hope.

remember those ppl in the battle station discussing bout the power of the new Death star:

"...this station is now the ultimate power in the universe!"

VADER: "Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force."

"Don't try to frighten us with your sorceress's ways Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to the ANCIENT RELIGION does not help u conjure up the stolen datatapes..or given u clairvoyance enuff to find the rebels hidden fortress. (choked by Vader using the Force)"

"I find your lack of Faith disturbing"

Hmm..so faith in the living Force..Faith as in Faith itself..or the Force as a Faith? 🙂

The force is everything, and everything is the force.
