...I was pointing out that I don't give a damn whether masturbating is a sin or not. That is my point of view, which I believe I am allowed to express. The reason behind this point of view is because, as an Agnostic Athiest, I don't care what is a sin and what isn't. However, I'd like to also describe something remarkable: I don't need things like "sins" to keep me from doing morally bad things.
So, in conclusion, if I offended your religion, realise I did not mean to, but you yourself must bear with the fact that there are some that don't hold the same views as you. If I have been wrong in labeling you as religious, then I honestly don't see how I could have offended you with my comment.

Masturbating is not a sin... I don't where some Christians get that idiotic idea.
Popular, and mostly correct, oppinion on the matter is that by making the Church the only avenue to salvation, and by imposing draconian rules on most aspects of life, the Church could maintain control over most of its flock.
It says how and where a person can have sex (not outside of marriage, not masturbation, not at certain times, not in certain ways) who a person can have sex with (wife or husband, not two men or two women, not people of another faith, not people of another race) and what has to be done in order to have sex (get married through the Church, no contraceptive etc.)
Control is the key word, essentially a large scale attempt control thinking, feeeling and action in most avenues of life.

Everything is a sin.
