Why?

Then I must be UN-natural then...because both Pedophilia isn't for me.

I don't think pedophilia is natural....at least I don't think so.

Well...was Joe Bloggs born a pedophile is the question then...he would probs say he was.

Look at the Ancient Romans...

Good, it was meant to.

I'm still in tears, I know a young priest who will find it very humorous all be it, laughing at a serious issue...

Agreed. I have seen people try to use the "It's Natural" or It's Not Natural" argument to say that something is right or wrong. This ignores that fact that right and wrong have nothing to do with nature.

Indeed, however the "I was born that way" is a very popular excuse to try and justify certain types of behavior...

Let's see...losing my hair is natural, growing toe nails is natural, wrinkles in my face are natural, eating food is natural, going potty is natural....but having sex with a young child? I dunno about that one....

And there are a lot of things that are natural that are not for you. Lions killing the cubs of a competitor is natural, but you killing your girl friends kids from another man is not good.

That is only a valid argument when the outcomes does not violate established values.

I edited my post because for me to say killing isn't consider natural then that would discredit the Hamburger I had for lunch.

An innocent cow was kill for my appetite.

(but it was tasty)

Masturbation is a sin according to the Catholic Church because it desecrates Sperm. However, the Church also states that teenagers can hardly be held culpable for committing the act- especially considering their hormones and the puberty cycle.

But that only example in the bible (that I can remember) that says that masturbation is a sin is were someone deliberately did the act as a rejection of a woman who he did not want.

The Onan bloke and spilling it is the most oft used example.

However, the Magisterium of the Church does not need to rely on the Bible for everything. The Holy Spirit is still alive after all.

That sounds nice, but I do not know what that really means.

The Church, as a living entity does not need to rely on the Scriptures for understanding and revelation.

Jesus built his Church on a man, not a book.

But the Church has done great evil in the past.

What you need to remember, is the Church is made up of people- they can take courses of action which may seem outrageous in modern society.

Consider the Inquisition, no modern Pope would allow an Inquisition but in the past Popes did- does this mean those Popes were wrong or invalid?

No.

If we look at the time we see it was a pretty bloody period- the sort of truths we now hold were not held then...superstition and fear was rampant...and secular rulers aswell as the Church used death and executions to maintain order/power etc.

Lets also look at the Bible, in the OT God called for Inquisitions, Deuteronomy 17:2–5

Paul also warns about that sort of action. 1 Corinthians 5:13

So yes the Church has commited wrongful deeds, however that does not invalidate the indefecatibility of the Church.
