Full Review: Batman Begins

hahaah uh...yea it's pretty much him with a potato bag for a head....

he looks MUCH more menacing as just Dr. Crane.....and all the girls I was watching the movie kept slightly mocking, slightly swooning over him. Not because he's manly, but because he's got that pretty boy (over the top in my opinion) look. I swear there was mascara, lip gloss, and a thick layer of powder...=P

I din't mind the drawn out beginning actually...it's the real ending that kinda went like a blur to me. Starting from the twist, it unravels pretty quickly with action and scenes changed really quickly. Still loved it though. Gonna hafta wait a few days or weeks to let it all sink in and really compare. As of now, I think both this film and Burton's 1989 Batman left a strong feeling....different, but unique in their own way.

saw it and loved it. A young robin is in it.

just a potato sack...but when the fear gas comes in....he looks freaky and he only wears that sack after he's used the gas.

I felt the same way....Batman '89 and this are both good in their own way and I felt excited when I left the theater after both of them.

This one is more based in reality and focused on Bruce...the other was more of a gothic fantasy comic film. Both Dark and good but uniquely different in their own way.Plus...hey, without the '89 film we wouldn't have the Batman theme used so well in the first two films and B:TAS and still used today on JLU on occasion. That is the only thing this new film lacks......any kind of a reconizible theme for Bats....in fact I can't even remember the music. Then again maybe that's good?

I really love how the supporting characters got a bigger role compared to the previous movies. Alfred had much more dialogue and character development. Gordon as well.....he's not just some fat bumbling fool (angry in the first movie, useless in the 2nd, forgot what he did in the 3rd...and completely moronic in the 4th). He really reminds me of Gordon from Year One.

see

Wow what a fantastic movie, film of the year in my opinion. Bale was astonishing the guy is such a great actor, in fact it pisses me off how he doesn't get enough credit in this country but they suck off Jude Law who isn't a patch on Bale. Oldman was tremendous finally Gordon was portrayed how he was meant to be and not some fat lazy icompetent fool. The casting was absolutely brilliant couldn't have been better if you ask me. I really can't put into words how good it was!

I presume you mean the little boy who Rachel saves when you refer to Robin? Hope not, Batman works so much better as a loner in these films to me.

a street rat huh....nah gotta go with Grayson he was the best robin

I'm not so keen on Robin to be honest, I don't think you can keep the same level of darkness and intensity with him in it . I'm also still scarred from the way that he was portrayed by Schumacher.

but this is a new era my boy (or girl)...if they can get Batman right they can get Robin right too.

You were right with "my boy" last time I checked anyway. Nolan is a fantastic director (my personal favourite to be honest) and if anyone could get Robin right i'm sure he could. But it could still backfire and ruin the franchise again, we need to keep Batman solitary for the next few films at least.

maybe introduce Dick half way through the second and have him train and become Robin in the third?

Exactly the same way I feel about Batman Begins. This film was basically everything I had ever dreamed of Batman being on the big screen and to my pleasant surprise even more.

That is without a doubt 100% true and I'm very sure many others would agree with me.

The next film will undoubtedly focus on the legendary character of Joker and the roots of he and Batman's rivalry. Inclusion of a character such as Robin could completely decimate any chance of this happening and would deter the mood, sensibility, and credibility the new franchise has developed thus far.

Did they ever mention the boy's name in the film?

I really do hope they leave Robin out of this franchise. Really, Batman needs to be on his own...

No,

Also, for those of you who are not yet sure: That boy is not currently, never has been, and will not be Robin in this or any other Batman film.

No Robin in this franchise. If they add Robin it will ruin the movies. I like the character of Robin, but i just dont see it translating well into the movie. I dont trust them. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

IF! they end up introducing Robin...in any form...he better be just as dark and tortured as Batman.

None of that gallivanting around in the Bat-tank saving young blondes from thugs wearing glow in the dark makeup.
