Dont even bring the contradiction in here when the movies plenty contradict themselves.
"I will not let this Republic the has stood for a thousand years...." False, Jedi have existed as long as the Republic and 1,000 generations dont equal one thousand years.

"There hasnt been a full scale war since the formation of the Republic." BULL SHIT!

Padmea only held Luke, so how could his sister remember her???

Ok, Nac I hate to argue with you but, when Leia was talking about her mom, I think she was talking about her adopted mom, you know, Bail Organa's wife.

oh, and another contradiction between movies, "When I left you I was but a learner..." Anakin became a Jedi Knight, It's even obvious in the movie, if you had never paid any attention to the EU, because Obi-wan refers to Anakin as "Friend, and Brother" unlike in Episone 2 where he refered to him as "Padawan".

Darth Vader hunted down and killed the Jedi knights? BULL SHIT! all Vader did was slaughter younglings and padawans in the temple! It was the Clones that killed the Jedi Knights, It was the EU that fixed that little flaw by talking about Jedi that left the order, or went into hiding, that vader hunted down.

Artoo wasn't Obi Wan's droid, he was Anakin's!

So, Just face it, Even the movies contradict themselves, so what now Lightsnake, and swirly girl? WHAT NOW?

1. Ruusan Reformation.
2. No, he's right. Ruusan Reformation again.
3. The Force.

Yea? but what about mine, Lightsnake? And I still refuse to believe she was talking about Padme.

The Ruusan Reformation was a event when the Republic Measures and Standards Bureau reset the year zero to year of the Battle of Ruusan, which is 1,000 BBY by the current date system.

Due to Palpatine's comment in Attack of the Clones that the Republic had only existed for a thousand years (instead of a thousand generations as stated by Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope) and that there had been no "full-scale" war for all the Republic's history, the Expanded Universe literature has established that the Battle of Ruusan ended a war with the Sith Order, the Republic had to be built from the ground up, making the Ruusan Reformation much more than a simple change of the dating system.

This looks to me like people fixing George Lucas' mistakes with the EU!

You're right: thanks to the EU, the Republic was totally reformed and almost recreated 1000 years prior...and Leia and Padme established a bond in the force, stupid but there you go.

It's exactly what you say it is: the EU cleaning up after George

So, you can't argue contradictions, because there are plenty in the movies, and there would even more if it weren't for EU.

There's a firm difference between contradictions in the EU and the movies

What? HOW?

Lucas can do whatever he wants on one, as the filmns are a different level of the canon. The EU, however, is on one level and mandated totally by LFL. Games tend to be outside that radar though, generally

The OT >>> Both. Fact.

Lucas can do what he wants, exept contradict his own story! thats like saying one thing, and doing another.

But Lucas has the power to go back and change the movies

He has the right to retcon ideas, you know. It's his Universe. He has the LEGAL RIGHT to change his Universe.

not really, most of the people who played in the OT are not going to
re-do what they allready did. He can't change what has been said in the OT.

He added to that movie, he didn't change what they said.

🤨

Or ROTJ, when he changed the song.
