Sean Penn is a good actor. I am not sure how versatile he is though. All the characters he plays that he gets the best acclaim and reviews for seem to be cut from the same mold (ala Mystic River). I don't know if I see him having the right stuff for the Joker. It's certainly unlike anything I can remember him tackling before.

😐 Yeah mate pull the other one.
Once again, based on this remade picture, I can see Penn being the Joker. It would require him to do something he has never truly done before, but that may be the thing that makes him say yes. I am telling you, the role is his if he wants it. The role of the Joker requires someone with Penn's talent. Chris Nolan would wait for Penn to finish any project he had before. 😄

Yea I don't mind an older actor for the JOker either...he's not THAT old-looking. Not like he's Michael Caine or Ian McDarmid or whoever.
Besides, I picture a slimmer JOker anyway and I always thought Jack Nicholson, as terrific as he was, was kinda pudgy for a Joker. I thought Jim Carrey with his insane portrayal of the Riddler would've been nice as the Joker.
i actually think penn might be a great part for the role.....the only thing is...have you seen the guy lately?!?!?!? his arms are twice the twice of bales right now! no joke....I guess he could lose it all but damn.....as of now he's way to buff to be playing the part....though I would have to see how fully insane he can act before I make my final descision on the situation....

I have no problem with a buff Joker. 😆
Penn can go totally insane on film. I have seen him do it more than once. In the movie, Mystic River, it took about 10-15 men to hold him down in one scene. I am telling you guys and gals, Penn can play the Joker. He can "become" the Joker if he wanted to. He is that good. 😈

Even now on this remade picture he doesn't look like any thing great. Don't get me wrong I like Sean Penn as an actor I don't think however he'll be able to pull off the joker, physically and preforming. I did read on a thread a while ago then people were choosing who would be good to play the joker and some one pointed out Jude Law, he's a fresh face and I believe he'll be able to pull it off quite well.

That scene was in no way Joker-ish. He was crying for the love of God.

Are you saying that the Joker never cried before? I bet he cried after his pregnant wife died. I saw it in a Batman graphic novel. He stopped crying after he became the Joker. By the way, here is what I think of your response😖hit
