first off.. yeah goku usually spends most of his time hurt.. but it's because he's usually just kicked the crap out of the baddest assed guy there is at the moment... and remember being hurt and recovering is actually a plus for a saiyan...
also I wouldn't call superman unlike anything goku's ever faced before.... they are similar in too many ways to care for IMO...

This is kinda silly.. I would say most people on this forum will not give an impartial response.
Thing is.. even Vegeta early on from the Vegeta saga was totally capable of destroying whole planets - and this was before any of them had managed to reach super saiyan level.
Fact is, as much as I love DBZ, their characters are balanced to fight against other DBZ characters. Their power is ridiculous when compared to most Marvel characters.
Perhaps SS3 Goku *ss4 is a joke.. any DB fan knows DBGT was filler for kiddies on morning TV* would be best matched against someone like Thanos w/ the Infinity Gaultlet?
P.S. Remember, Saiyans improve themselves by fighting new and more powerful opponents.. For example just look at the massive transformations the main characters have undertaken over the years. First there was Piccolo, then Vegeta, then Freezer, then Cell and finally Buu *with many inbetween*

As I have said many times, No Dbz character has ever been shown capable of blwing up the planet with there own power...... Kid Buu and Frieza both hit the cores of the planets to blow them up.... while every other statement about destroying planets they have been aiming right at the core (planet)

I don't know much about Thanos, So I have no right to say one is stronger then the other (Without proof) but from what I hear about him he could ripp Goku's arms off and beat him with them

No saiya-jins can get more skilled and smarter from fighting but they only get power from near-death experiances.

And what's your point? Imperiex presumably could reboot the Universe, but he had to exploit a weakspot in the fabric in order to do so. What's greater? A low level, crappy planet (no DBZ character ever blew up any planet like Earth on their own power, like TPina said) or the entire bloody universe?

Look at the previous pages for proof, Superman is simply stronger, faster, and more durable than Goku or anyone Goku has faced. Supes rips Goku a new one.

supes has shown to be faster than the speed of light on a few occasions...
here's the thing... it's not an irregular tactic for superman to literally grab an opponent and fly out to the sun so he can feed of the solar energy and become stronger and beat the crap out of them.... he did it to darksied, wonder woman, and he tried to do it to doomsday... so I think that if he did the same thing to goku... goku would obviously lose since he needs air to breath.. it's pretty much as simple as that...
