The Blast was designed to overload his center causing him to black out. Thors soul was more "Hardy" than a Human's and he was able to resist it. That doesn't mean that Warlock can't take the soul into his Soul Gem. The blast still affected him seeing as he rocked back because of it, but it didn't overload him.

I dont see where Thor was rocked by it. Distracted perhaps, but rocked? If anything it ticked him off even more. Certainly Warlock never tried anything like it again until later when he was able to get Strange to boost his Soul Gem's power!
Taking his soul is something completely different, to use another analogy: the difference between a MRI and Magneto. One doesn't affect those without metal directly in their bodies, the other will find a way to affect your body if he feels like it.
Sure, the analogy is interesting but doesnt quite apply. If the Soul Gem get through to the Asgardian soul past the "fortifications", how can the Soul Gem steal it, ie., how can it steal what it cannot even access. The next time Warlock tried using the Soul Gem he had himself boosted by Strange because he realized that perhaps together they might be able to get through those those fortifications unique to the Asgardian soul. Unfortunately he did not account for the power gem which kicked in and caused a backlash.
And again Warlock admitted he was trying to Help Thor and was holding back in the last scan of that second set.
Where did he say he was holding back. About half way through Surfer+Warlock vs Thor they became more focused on their own survival than anything else. The scan you posted shows this. Warlock says "the surfer and I are in deep trouble". It doesnt get clearer than that.
Secondly, with the Power Cosmic the Surfer can ramp up his strength and speed as he sees fit, and Force is what we're looking for here, not Work. He doesn't need to move his legs seeing as he's on the Board, which is an extention of his body controlled by Will. He even admitted in that fight that off of it he's much slower than he could be.
The board is an extension of his power. The more "work", ie., enery he puts into the movement of his board the less he has to do other things. He was boardless and went toe to toe with Thor. He did not even bother trying to take on Thor physically. Unfortunately for him Thor decided to make it physical. Even after the Surfer decided that he has "held back long enough" and that "not even a mad god can withstand the silver surfer's wrath" he got utterly thrashed.
Thor even threw his hammer in that fight after Surfer was on his board, and he could have popped into FTL and wailed on Thor before it came back. Surfer wasn't fighting up to par.
How can using his power going FTL possibly help against one who's reflexes are FTL and is wasting none of his power on movement?
It still is a great display of Thor's power since he was able to beat them, but it would not be as conclusive in an Arena fight when both combatants have Bloodlust. [/B]

Even then it came pretty close. In fact, the Surfer was surprised to be alive ... "we're both alive" he exclaimed in shock.

Thor isn't able to fly alone unless he uses the winds to lift and guide him. However he can fight at multiples of the speed of light, which has been shown many times.

I'm not sure what scan you are referring to but it cannot be this one which shows that when Warlock looks up at Thor who was tussling with the Surfer and unleashes the Karmic Blast Thor lands on his feet on top of a boulder.

The one scan where Thor is shown on his hands and knees is at the end after he got clocked from behind by the board while he hesitated to kill Warlock who's was hanging limp in Thor's hand by his hair.

Of course he is trying to help Thor and everyone Thor might kill but he found that his Soul Gem cannot affect him in the least, let alone kill him, which is why once he realized he did not have the power to bring Thor down he decided that his real focus should be on saving his own life and that of the Surfer.

Thor only got the Power Gem after utterly thrashing Drax who had the Power Gem as well as help from another super powered heavy-hitter. We can see that Thor would have been (and was almost) brought down by a boosted Soul Gem (boost courtesy of Dr. Strange) but then he tapped in to the Power Gem, which also shows that just because he is carrying the power gem doesnt mean he is always benefitting from it's power. Drax, on the other hand, is always more powerful with the power gem than he usually is. Maybe this is because he has worn it for so long that he is always tapping into it.

It does affect his power because he can only use a certain amount of power cosmic at any one time. His peak power (maximum unleashed at any single moment) is not infinite. It could be argued (if it were possible to prove it) that he could continuously operate at his limit indefinitely and that therefore it is infinite but what's relevant in a fight where the other guy has the instantaneous power to ko you is if your instantaneous peak is high enough to ko him and obviously when it comes to Surfer and Thor it is not.

Bloodlust makes you fight stupid. This is why BRB was able to take down Thor. BRB was weakened but sane and in control while Thor was cutting loose but was lunging wildly.

Thor can react faster than the speed of light in combat. This is why he can avoid and deflect energy beams after they have been shot at him. He can do to energy beams what a good baseball batter does to fast balls.

I have already shown him deflect the phoenix blast back at her, but he will continue to deny Thor's speed.
And Hulk was able to get his hands up to block a blast of Gamma Radiation from the Galaxy master. Then he 'pushed' and it redirected it at him beating him.

Cap's blocked Lasers after they were fired before, does that mean he has FTL reflexes?
GL's fly through space all the time at vast FTL speeds, do they have FTL reflexes though they are shown to be regular humans?

I was a bit hot under the collar because somehow several of the people here denied Hulk's Unlimited Strength despite ample proof, it's not a good excuse but it was the reason I was so ready to stop being nice when Souja started provoking me. Even tehn I still tried to be nice, but got more of the same so I decided "Why Not".
I actually do like Thor, though I would have liked a more accurate version (Red Beard, not Aryan Thor), and I am a fan of Norse Legends, though I haven't read as many as I'd like. The damn library around here sucks.
