conservatives talk about the 'sanctity of marriage' but thats just a bullshit PC line. what they really believe is that being gay is evil. "the bible says its evil" "they'll burn in hell" "god hates f@gs" is the answer you will finally recieve when you press the question hard enough. its a product of prejudice and intolerance. funny since its the exact opposite of how jesus taught us to conduct ourselves. hypocrtite redneck fools they are, so obsessed with christs' judgement on others that they fail to see their own evil. i wonder what jesus will have to say to THEM when they finally meet him. probably "piss off"
Liberals talk about 'separation of church and state', but that's just a bullshit PC line. What they really believe is that Christianity is evil, and to allow it to influence politics would be their downfall--after all, how can the ones who are the essence of immorality utilize a religion that condemns so many of their beliefs as being immoral? "Christianity is hate speech", "Christian evangelicals hate gays", and "Gee, wouldn't it suck if abortion were illegal?" are the answers you'll get when you press the issue hard enough. It's a product of prejudice and intolerance that is allegedly based off of the desires of the Founders, when, in reality, it's a twisted misrepresentation of what they wanted. Funny, since the very stereotypical ideas espoused by these liberals are based off of nothing else by prejudice and intolerance. They're nothing more than hypocrite liberal PC-Nazis so obsessed with the alleged sins of conservatives that they can't see their own evil.I wonder what Jesus Christ will say to them when they finally meet him?
Probably, "I know you not; depart from me."
And those liberal Christians. You know the ones--those who want to cross out sections of the Bible they don't like and pretend like there is no such thing as judgment or any other parts of the Bible that don't conform with their morally relatavistic ideals. They want to pretend like what's written in the Old Testament doesn't count, that it ought to be discarded so that we can focus on the ministries of Christ--because that's why Christ came, at least in their eyes: to declare that there are no wrong things in this world, that there will be no punishment for sin.
I wonder what Jesus Christ will say to them when they finally meet him?
Probably, "You have perverted My Word; you have made it into something false and unclean. Piss off."

You know, I could have sworn I lived in a country that was born out of wanting freedom from religious oppression and that has no official religion.Would be nice if the people running the place could figure this out.

The ignorant can't understand that. They cant look at history and what was done to slaves and conerning interracial marriages. They can't look ahead and realize what a decent society is.

I maintain my original statement, though I must add that what you have said applies to most anyone with an opinion.'Tis a shame that you've so perverted the word "oppression".
Hmmm, someone should read up on the pilgrims who came to Plymouth and why exactly they left England.
'Tis a shame that you seem to think that forcing people to follow a certain religion and punishing them for not doing so isn't oppression.
'Tis a greater shame that people in this country do not learn from the past and keep doing the same things.

Gay marriage bans are blatantly unconstitutional...thats why all the retarded neocons are trying to change constitutions. Its the only way they can jsutify it.
in 30 years...they'll be remembered as the anti-gay version of the KKK. And all the states that pass these "amendments" are clearly the most bigoted and morally dry shitholes of America...and it will be permenantly evidenced as such.

Maybe you need a dictionary, then?Because that fits in quite well with the definition of oppression.

No, not really.
And whats your brilliant basis for that.

Not really, and I would like to point out to you the oh-so-evident hatred in your post. The disgust, the revilement--continue to accuse Christians of hatred when you yourself are nearly expectorating with every word you type?
Hah. I never mentioned Christians nor implied them once. You're simple reading into things to make it seem like you have a counter-argument.
A person who votes for one of these amendments is a poor excuse for an American citizen, regardless of religion.

Time and time again I have stated it. At this moment, I am weary and shall proceed to sleep. You may hear it tomorrow.
Ooh...I feel so priveleged.

Or perhaps my eyes pierce with ease your thinly-veiled comments to the truth that lies beneath. We both know exactly about whom you are speaking. If you pretend it is anything else, then you are lying to yourself.
Many Christian groups support the bans. They have part of the blame. Many individual Christians see the bans for what they really are and reject them.
The Christian dogma is the problem here, not Christians.
Besides, since the US is 75% Christian anyway...If you say I hate America, you could say that was anti-christian.
So really, your desired interpretaion of my opinoins is far from the truth.

Okay, all I want is someone to tell me ONE valid reason why gay marriage should be illegal.
Just one. That is all. And not just any reason. A valid reason.
And please leave the Bible out of your "reason." 😉
And I have a question. If you think that something is morally wrong, does that mean that there has to be a law against it? 😕
