I think they should keep the shield out of the story until close to the climax. Then he finds the shield and is able to defeat the villain.
Kind of like Bat Begins. We didnt really see Batman for a while.

IMO, people would be way more interested if Cap had to deal with today's issues (terrorism)

He's the current star in the WWE. Probably equal to the Rock. But how hard could it be playing the Cap?
I mean, Christian Bale is good, but he's no TOm Hanks.
please tell me you're kidding...... please
A) wrestlers suck at acting (it's like Newtons 7th law of physics)
B) it could be very hard.... not only is it physically demanding but you have to make people believe this could be a real person
c) Christian Bale is good, Tom Hanks is good.... but Tom Hanks would not have made a good Batman... i don't get your comparison
please.... lets have no more talk of wrestlers playing big budget movie roles....... everyone knows they suck.... most of them can't even give an angry wrestling "interview" with any degree of believability
the rock ...... i think he's probably the best "actor" to come out of wrestling..... but that doesn't make him a good actor.... just a decent "wrestler" turned actor
my point with CHristian Bale is that you dont have to be a "great actor" to play a superhero.
John Cena could surprise. You never know. He is definitely a dead ringer for the Captain.
The good thing about Superhero movies is that u dont require a lot of great dialog. Its more about the realism of the effects. Also, many people care more about if the movie sticks to the spirit of the actual comic.
I like John Cena. Take a look at some of his pictures on his site.
SO if you dont like the wrestler, I challenge you guys to find a better Cap.
almost any actor would be a better cap than any wrestler or bodybuilder.... it's like what they say about martial arts films.... you can teach an actor to fight (choreographed) but you can't teach a martial artist to act... it's a skill you either have or you don't... and Cap doesn't have to look like comic cap.... too many comic characters have flawless chisseled looks... it's unnatural and unrealistic considering cap was just a random soldier to begin with
Guys, guys, John Cena will be the main star of a movie that is coming to a theatre near you. (I think it is called The Marine.)
Wrestling is half acting and they may not be perfect, but they do okay.
However, I don't think Cena would make a good Captain America.
His formulaic wrestling matches won't translate well into fight scenes.
(And what the-- why is this thread so wide?)
