Funny (not humourous) thing is...the only problems we ever had were with the I.R.A (US funded, by the way) before 9/11.
Then Bush decides to say "Wow, we ARE vulnerable. That means everyone else must be, if we are."
We were fine till Bush came along. That's an actual fact. That's why loads of Americans are feeling guilt as well as sadness. Because if it weren't for their president, we wouldn't be in this mess.
I don't hold human life in high regard at all, not en masse. Neither do other humans, but I acknowledge this as a bad occurance because it is. Not singularly because people died, but as a whole. People die all the time, but the thing that makes this sad is that it's pointless and needless.
I don't think "Oh this is sad because people died." I look at the situation, the people involved, the people who cause it and think "This is what's sad. All of it."
Republicans can piss and moan all they want about Anti-Bush people but if this doesn't prove that he has caused shit, what does?

i dont want to start getting petty but its well documented that the 9/11 attacks were being planned as early as 1994
not to mention attacks such as the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000 before Bush was even in office the first time
the UK allies itself with the US...i dont consider this a bad thing...whats the alternative?...for the worlds leaders to bury their heads in the sand and ignore islamic extremism...to allow the US...which was the country that came to the rescue of all European nations within living memory for many of our citizens today
i personally think that we have to tackle the issue rather than to simply shrug all responsibility onto the US
take the fact that much islamic extremism is borne out of islamic areas of africa which has quite frankly been disgustingly exploited by the European nations to a much larger extent than the US...in fact many of the hijackers on sept 11th were Algerian
i'm not saying our support of the US isn't a motivation for these people to attack us...but i just think we are not as innocent as a nation as we would like to think
hope everyone you know is ok AC...

so whats the option...to sit back and take it....to try and pacify them and give into their extremist demands?
Try to work with them would be an option, it won't work either... Really to stop terrorism is impossible. To stop certain organisations is possible and if they want to try, fine have fun. It just won't work however.
