Its a little of both, akuma was getting beat up good, but not defeated, he wanted to wait until ryu embraced the dark hadou.
In that version (the one I'm using), ryu rejects the dark hadou, and goes on to be more powerful without it. that was why M hoshi was referring to warping.
Like i said its too vague to argue, and paeng doesn't really no.

I didn't quite say that, I said one was destroyed in a fight with ken, these guys do these feats at their best showings.

I know a lot about Ryu. Even in his best showings which is in the movie not on the comics. I don't think that he'll ever beat those three but I'm not saying he will go down easily.
And I'm not a Wolverine fanboy I will not defend Wolverine if his enemies is too tough for him to handle.(For example Wolverine vs. Lobo) I will not go in a topic like that. But you, on the other hand is a true Ryu fanboy.
