Should I go see War Of The Worlds or The Fantastic Four????

Haven't seen Batman Begins. I heard it was supposed to be kinda boring.

fantastic four is nothing but special effects..

Bah. You haven't even seen "Fantastic Four". Of course it has special effects, unless you know people that are made of fire, rock, are invisible, and have elastic body parts.

I'm glad you guys don't come to the MDF, I'd be racking up points left and right. 😆

....anyway, "Sin City" is not on DVD yet, and I don't recommend any flicks, especially if you like "The Girl Next Door" and "Euro-trip", because I don't watch shit on celluloid.

(BTW, the original "War of the Worlds" is incredible. A.C., you musn't like Sci Fi period..lol.)

No, it was supposed to kick ass, and it did. Uh oh. 😑

my dad said the original WotW is awesome and i bet it is....its not lost in todays hollywood...when its there just to get rich and not to make movies....and cinemaddiction have you seen hostage?

I'm gunna go see it soon anyways. But GND is funny if you get the jokes and everything. But not all will like it, like Cinemaddiction didn't.

But I haven't seen those, so technically I haven't watched shit on celluloid either. 😕

Okay, I won't rent those movies. Now that I think about it, you are right. I want to rent something with more substance. 🙂

I don't hate Tom Cruise. I carry no such extreme emotions toward any actor or actress.

I don't like his movies so far, save for The Firm. I don't like his acting style.

It has nothing to do with the man himself, so don't assume so. It seems to be that you're accusing me of disliking the movie due to hating Tom Cruise, yet you seem to be not speaking against it because you like him.

You'd say he's very good in that movie. You would. I wouldn't.

You see, you can have all these special effects that make the movie (like F4) but if you have special effects and the acting makes the move..then that would be better in my choice

The effects there don't make the movie. They're just highly used. War of the Worlds effect actually are what the movie is all about. That's what they hyped, that's what gets pulled out in the interviews.

You say effects AND acting make the better movie, I agree, if they go hand in hand.

But we're discussing Fantastic Four and War of the Worlds. The latter being the worst.

You can call me Cine, and yessir, I saw "Hostage". Ran a little too long, IMO, but otherwise, thought it was great. "Assault on Precinct 13" was damn good too, a little slower the 2nd time I saw it, but still.

What's great about the original WOTW is the minimal special effects, which makes it 100 times more realistic.

I'm sure "Girl Next Door" is as funny as "Risky Business", the movie I have heard it lifted virtuallt everything from. Besides, you kids don't rent those movies for the jokes. "Employee of the Month" is another one. It's got adult actors, but it's the sex that sells it. Especially Steve Zahn and the stripper.

"A Love Song for Bobby Long" is a fantastic drama, IMO, as is "The Assassination of Richard Nixon". If you want edgy, rent "The Machinist", if no other reason than it stars Christian Bale.

Seriously? I havne't seen that yet. I'll rent it. Any other ideas, I'll probably watch like three movies tonight, unless I get sucked into these forums and end up just hanging out on KMC. So, far, I think that's what is happening. If I make myself a drink, it's all over. 😬

It's officially over. 🙁

*sips drink* 😉 😄

stripper ✅ Steve Zahn ✅

I rented it for the jokes. It only has about two seconds of nudity.

Yeah, so, instead of watching movies, I'm going to sit back and just get comfortible right here on KMC. You guys are my entertainment for the evening! Forget 'The Girl Next Door', when you got Cine, Maynard, and Alpha, etc. to keep you entertained.

I haven't seen the Machinist. Tell me about it, please. 🙂

Hey, HimoKun, did you see Sideways? 😮

THE MACHINIST is the story of TREVOR REZNIK, a lathe-operator who is dying of insomnia. In a machine shop, occupational hazards are bad enough under normal circumstances; yet for Trevor the risks are compounded by fatigue. Trevor has lost the ability to sleep. This is no ordinary insomnia...

Nope. But I've heard things about it.

Did you copy paste that from somewhere? 😄

I liked Sideways because it was a darker comedy than I expected. I like dark comedies, like Bad Santa. 😆
