Ancient Homosexuality

Hmmm. Not really, and besides, who says that supporting homosexuality is "failing moral values"? If anything it shows a culture has its head on right when they are concerned with bigger things then prosecuting a couple of guys who enjoy each others company. And by your logic doesn't that mean that modern society is doomed as well, seeing as how we have incorporated so much of these ancient cultures?

But anyway, as a history student I would be interested in hearing more of this theory, explain how supporting homosexuality led to their downfall, as I have never read a single book that suggests anything like that. Or heard a single lecture to that effect.

Second, homosexuality was not considered an issue of morality in Roman culture; it was simply a fact of life.

Whoever brought up Nambla, should realise it's an organisation of adults who try to justify sexual relationships with children by claiming mutual consent. It's general consensus that someone with the psychological age of a child cannot give such consent or make such decisions.

The Man-Boy love was traditional Athens and before becoming a big empire the Romans really didn't care for it.....later it became "in" to try lots of sexual and not-sexual stuff....but for Athens it was normal ...the Paiderastia as it was called was the greek way of life (and although I don't want to moles children for them it was a good way to live....the youth and the seniors had a relationship like it was never again in any other country....
Oh in Sparte I believe it was very much recommended that Guys in teh Army (everyone) should have loving and maybe sexual relatiobnships with usually one of the other soldiers (made them fight harder on the battlefield)

before this idiot makes anymore off topic comments i would just like to point out that everyone has mentioned greeks to have an easy going attitude towards homosexuality but nobody has mentioned the japanese

Gays are people too. Who cares if someone is gay. It's their life, not yours so why get involved. People need to mind their own business and let other people live the way they want to. Gays aren't harming anyone. They just want to live life like everyone else.

not to mention bisexual/homsexual and the way society has viewed this is simply due to being SO uptight about sex and the human body naked unless your blown to bits then its ok (sick)
