Too dangerous to be left alive

When anie kills count dooku palps says that he(dooku) was too dangerous to be left alive. When Mace wants to strike plaps he also says tha same thing. Obi-Wan would have stopped anie from finishing dooku if he were conscious so it IS the Jedi way not to strike the defenseless wich means Mace had issues with the dark side and that he is no better than the Sith.

No that's not the deal at all. Obi would have stopped Anakin because Dooku had no hands which means no force powers or saber and too full of pain to come out with a plan. Mace wants Sidious to be destroyed because he is in the senate, if he would stand a trial he would be free in no time and then the jedi would fall.

But aren't the Jedi selfless? In KotOR, Bastila says how no person deserve execution no matter what their crimes

Palpatine actually was to dangerous to be alive, so while Mace could have handled the situation better, he had no choice but to kill him.

That's still the dark side, which means he had no choice but to become corrupt while anie had a choice and chose to remain loyal to the senate, something the Jedi should have done. At that point the dark side was the light side, there was no difference.

It's not the Dark Side. GL presents it as the rtight thing to do, therefore it is not, Mace HAD to kill Sidious, in the same way Anakin eventually had to, It was the only way.

End of story.

You make it sound like there was no choice, that it was destiny...

He was the incarnation of the Sith. Whilst he lieved, Balance was gone and millions (and more) would die.

He had to die- that is the simple picture GL paints. Any other option would be hideously wrong.

Not all killing in SW is the result of the Dark Side.. It wasnt the dark side that made Obi kill Grevious.. just as it wasnt the Dark Side that was leading Mace to try & kill Sids.. it was the combination of years of Jedi training, knowledge & judgement...

Well.. if you noticed in the movie, palp threw his sabre down when Anakin walked in to make it look like he was trying to take over the senate and such, but it is against the Jedi way. But palp is Lord Sidious so he is to dangerous to be left alive. And as the other guy said he would of stood trial and have been freed easily and the Jedi would fall, but either way they fell in episode 3, other then Yoda and Obi-Wan.

I wouldnt say he threw it, Mace kicked him in the face. 😛

Sidious was too dangerous to be left alive because not only was he a phenomenal lightsaber duelist, but his mastery of The Force is only rivaled by such entites as Yoda.

The main thing that Mace was trying to get across was that Sidious was not only dangerous because of his skills, but because of the amount of intellectual and manipulative power that he had over the galaxy's governing body - The Senate.

Um, yeah, of course! 😛

Look sir, Droids!

And that's not quite relevant...unless, of course, there were some stormtroopers spotting droids in the background of that scene and I didn't see it...

They were midgets...very tiny.

Small hands....

Obi killed grievous because he had the right to, because he was armed. When Mace goes to arrest palps he first decides to ARREST him, and when palps tries to fry mace for the first time then Mace goes mad and wants to kill him. Mace DID look like he was angry which is the dark side. Altough, I think Mace was angry to raise his saber so high as if he was going to slay somebody in full anger.

mace realized that palpy was the sith that controlled the senate, annie told him, remember? cut off the head and the beast dies.

Firstly, Palpatine didn't throw his sabre away, he dropped it when he was kicked in the face.

Secondly, of course Mace was angry, three of his buddies have just been cut down in front of him. What do you expect him to feel? The important thing is he didn't give in to anger (like Anakin did).

Third, what else was he supposed to do? Arresting Dooku would have been fine, he wasn't controlling the senate, Palpatine was. He had most of the senators eating out of his hand. His trial would have been a joke.

If he had arrested Dooku. Dooku would live! He would be saved by Grievous remember!
