The only person I've ever known to have beaten Superman fairly, and wasn't beaten to a pulp in payback is Orion.
Orion beat him, fair and square, but if you search for Orion websites, they are mostly "ORION SUCKS!!" hate pages.
Not to mention the recent raping of Orion's character and powers, they've turned him from a Superman equal to a pussy.
That wasn't a lethal dose of AF, if it were, Supes would be dead.
Orion's destructive power > Superman's destructive power.
Orion beat pre-crisis Superman in bloodlust mode, he'd take post-crisis Superman just as well if he wanted.
But like I said, with all the hate mail and hate sites about Orion since he took on Superman, it's doubtful DC would let him win again. Not to mention the OBVIOUS drop in intelligence from Orion out of nowhere.

Are you sure? Probes wer the ones that fough mano a mano against the heroes. Mongul and him fough what they tough was the real deal but it was a probe instead. At least its how i recall it. If Supes alone left him that way how come he didnt manage to beat Imperex with the allies he had? Doesnt make sense does it.

Probes have various color schemes. Check JLA worlds at War 1.
The real imperex is the one that showed up in the issue where Doomsday and Superman wer waving thro Probes and got they blasted to death. Doomsday died and Supes escaped because he was boomed to Apokolips.

Yeah. Im not saying its impossible, but what i got from the story was that they though they fought the read deal and they didnt. Thats why so many allies to try to take him. Also check one that was secret files or something where it shows a bunch of probes destroying Maximas planet.
Theres a panel where you see the size of a probe compared with the real deal. They seem bugs.

Supes fought him twice, once on Earth and in space with Doomsday in Superman: Our Worlds at War book 1. 🙂
