Magic is very real. Even the Bible acknowledges the existence of magic. However, magic cannot be white no matter how well meaning it is. Magic is power derived from one's own spirit and/or the power of a demonic force. The miracles from the Bible are purely from faith in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Well what is magic if it is not an use of a higher power. The miracles from the bible are an use of higher power. That higher power may be god or the holy spirit, or what ever other from you might want to call it.
Just because one says a miracle does not mean it can not be magic. In all forms magic is the use of power of a higher form. I do how ever agree that magic is not black nor white. It is people that are good or evil.
But yet again these are my thoughts on it and i just really like to see other people ideals to what my thoughts are. It might just open someones eyes mine or anyone else.

Magic or Miracles happen all the time using the power of strong intention. That's all it is. And the more involved in it the stronger the influence. It's the "Law of Attraction."
True I agree with you. I was just trying to state that magic whatever is in the bible ans so forth. It all comes back to what each believes in I guess.

I couldnt even finish all the replyies to this post.Untill you all try it for yourself, dont try tp philosiphy on it or use big words in confusing sentences that have been said said before to awnser it.You do not know the first of it. Hiding behind your pseoudo expertise and you know it. I have have hopped from being "saved' thru satanism wiccan buddihism etc etc all tha way down to voodouism. It all works, I havent a clue, studied it all and in between. I have felt peace and comfort with many of them. Yes, you do not have to believe or be pursuaded for them to work. I am still confused. But oh it it is sooo interesting and mysteries. Oh excuse the spelling I am tipsy. Take care all, and try to love unconditionally but not naively.

So you are saying we should dumb down the way we type for your sake? Maybe you should say please, its not our fault some of us have large vocabulary and use paragraphs.

I really don't know where you are going with this... what is wrong with using philosophy on it? It is, after all, one of philosophies uses.

It is interesting. And I think people should be able to study it as they wish, so I agree with you (I think)
Studying the occult opens yourself to evil spirits, I strongly recommend that you do not. Occult magic is very real and always dangerous (no matter what your intentions might be). When you use occult magic you are not in control, but under the control of evil spirits. Things can spiral out of your control very quickly.

And what exactly does "occult" cover? In so many Christian circles it is used as a blanket term for almost everything of a mystical, magical, spiritual, mediative nature. It is historically inaccurate to call, for example, the magics of ancient Egypt Occult in the same sense as one calls a demonologist of the Middle Ages Occult.
Likewise, the works of augers and oracles, I Ching, various other divination techniques, Runic magic, voodoo, Eastern magics, pre-Christian Roman sorcery, Australian Aboriginal magics, shamanism etc etc etc is in no way linked to Christianity or Satan - often coming about long before Christianity, of in place far from Christian/Jewish centres. Occult should not really apply.
Anyway, I have looked into much of it for scholarly reasons, and I have never not been under my own control.

Are you Christian? You know there is magic in the Bible? Prayer is a form of magic you know.

Yes, its basically a self-imposed monopoly.
Whats the best way to maintain control...make sure you can't go anywhere else.
And no, magic is not real.

A sad situation. To let fear keep one back from so many vibrant and fascinating other areas. I see no reason why a Christian can't study the "occult" and still be Christian. Or whatever.
