Great character design ✅

That list of feats was impressive. The energy of billions of stars???? Does anyone realize how much energy that is? That could destroy our entire galaxy. Storm's just too cool.

Uncanny X-Men #283
She does no such thing. You're seeing what you want to see. She generates a pressure dome that deflects falling debris, not an entire mountain. She flies the team out with her winds, while the dome deflects debris.

X-treme X-Men #14
Didn't see her do anything like that. If you mean when they're investigating the murder, she consciously switches to perceiving electrical energy patterns, she doesn't always see things that way.

X-Men Unlimited #7
I see lightning attacking Candra's telekinetic shield. I see winds deflecting telekinetic attack. Could be a lightning shield though I guess. Doesn't look like it.

Uncanny X-Men#165
Storm is in the galactic core. She states the galactic core has millions not billions of suns and their orbiting planets, crammed in a very small volume. She channels this high density of the energies into her body in order to destroy a brood embryo inside her. The process destroys her body. The essence of her mind is fused with that of the acanti space beast.

X-Men Annual #3
She doesn't generate an electromagnetic spectrum. That's ridiculous. The electromagnetic spectrum consists of everything from gamma rays to radio waves and more. She claims to generate an electromagnetic field. All I see is an electrical field.

Haven't checked on the other things yet.
Storm is cool. I dislike overhyping characters though. People don't have to make a character seem like more than they are to make them cool.

well I only copied and pasted those feats from another forum so I can't really say what happened in the comic.

But you just believed them off hand?

and as for:

Uncanny X-men#99-Storm destroyed a Sentinel using "solar" winds.

She rides solar winds... and somehow manages to conjur up a force 12 gale in an environment with no oxygen...

A solar wind is defined as...

A solar wind is a stream of charged particles (i.e. a plasma) which are ejected from the upper atmosphere of a star. When originating from stars other than the Earth's Sun, it is sometimes called a stellar wind.

It consists mostly of high-energy electrons and protons (~ 500 keV) that are able to escape the star's gravity because of their high thermal energy. Many phenomena can be explained by the solar wind, such as geomagnetic storms that knock out power grids on Earth, auroras, the tail of a comet always pointing away from the Sun, and the formation of distant stars.

and your point would be? she still destroyed a sentinal, that comic I have read

That you exagerrated... thats all...

exaggerated what? she destroyed a sentinal using solar winds. what is there to exaggerate?

Ok... go back and read... she flew on solar winds... she didnt neccessarily use them to make a gale... assuming she even could use solar winds like that...

what excatley is being debated here? she flew on solar winds and manipulated them to destroy a sentinal- that's it.

Thats the point im making... solar winds are not the same as earth bound winds...

and that is relevant to this discussion why?

You posted the list... so its relevant...

Ok. Let me rephrase what I said. Do you know how much energy is in millions of stars? That's probably enough to destroy our galaxy. Happy?

It was enough to destroy Storm's body, that's for sure, and she never could have done the feat had she not been in the "galactic core" something that isn't likely to happen again.

Yay! Finally a board that talks about my favorite character, Storm. Okay I'll just list a few facts of the Weather Witch. And I got the powers/abilities info from 'Sounds like a Storm is comin' -A wonderful storm fan site by the way.

{Lightning}The Facts - Lightning bolts travel at speeds of up to 60,000 miles per second. A flash of lightning is brighter than 10,000,000 100-watt light bulbs. Temperatures in the path of a lightning bolt can reach as high as 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Storm - Lightning alone makes Storm one of the most powerful and dangerous mutants around. When using lightning she could burn the very life out of you as well as blind you before you could even see that she was present.

{Temperature changes}The Facts - Quoted from the American Geophysical Union, 'The most immediate dangers posed by abrupt climate change range are devastating droughts and floods which could seriously affect both water supply and agriculture across vast stretches of the planet.' The most immediate dangers posed by abrupt climate change range are devastating droughts and floods, which could seriously affect both, water supply and agriculture across vast stretches of the planet.

Storm - Some people might question Storm's ability to affect the weather of the entire planet, seeing as rumor marks her abilities as 'over a limited area'. However, it was once planned for Ororo, a long while ago, to reverse the magnetic field of the Earth after Magneto had reversed it once in order to save the world. This would have resulted in Storm's death, but comic sells would have fallen if it was allowed to occur. All this said, it is evident that she is able to control and manipulate weather over the entire planet if she puts her mind to it; especially because she is much more powerful than she was when this idea had first been thought of. If she were to suddenly change the climate temperature the planet would fall into a meteorological catastrophe.

{Electrolysis}Electrolysis is the producing of chemical changes by passage of an electric current through an electrolyte.

Storm - In a much simpler form, electrolysis is simply a process through which electricity splits the atoms in a molecule. Storm has shown the ability to do this in X-Treme X-Men #2, where she used her lightning to perform electrolysis on H2O [water] molecules. She then used that oxygen that she divided from the hydrogen to create a shield of oxygen around her team (That is damn right awesome >< 😎.)

{Rain}Rain is one of the normal aspects of life for man countries and regions across the world. But what if there were a terrible overdose of rain? Flooding would be rampant and thousands of lives lost. Or even worse, what if the supply of rain was cut off? Droughts would kill people, livestock, and plants. Get the picture?

{Fog}The Facts - Fog. Not only the cause of many car accidents and airplane complications, but a cause of death. Fog is very blinding to the human eye; making their surroundings unseen.

Storm - While hiding or cloaking an entire area with fog, Storm can be unseen -- invisible if you will. If an opponent does not have any mental abilities (telepathy or psychic) she does have the over hand. While blinding her enemy from their environment she can use any tactic that she wants to defeat her enemy. *This tactic was seen in X-Men: Evolution's episode The Cauldron - Part 1 where Storm did this to Mystique and easily defeated her with a strong impact of the elbow.

{Clouds}Storm - The theory of how the dinosaurs died go along the lines of no sun being able to warm the Earth. If clouds covered every inch of the sky, heavy enough to keep out the sun's rays and heat, what do you think would happen? Enough said.

--------------------------
Abilities
{Physical Combat}
The Facts - Any fighter that has taken to skill the art of fighting is a dangerous foe, even outside the world of comics. Even if one's body is not buffed and perfectly toned with muscles. Even if it is a female involved with the friction. Any trained fighter is dangerous.

Storm - I've seen comments about Storm all over the internet. Some of these comments say Storm is not a worthy fighter or that she's worthless without her powers. Others say she is weak; for with one hit she can be defeated if caught off guard. Others say that Storm's ability over weather does not make her stronger than the other X-Men, just gives her a wider variety of attacks. I beg to differ over all of these comments as proved throughout this entire page. Also, while on the subject of fighting skills, Storm's past in Cairo, Egypt has shown that she obviously could protect herself even as a child from other and older thieves as she stole things. She was also trained in hand-to-hand combatant skills by Logan aka Wolverine. And in the comics, even WITHOUT her powers she defeated Cyclops in a battle to decide who was going to be leader of the X-Men. My case is closed.

{Thievery}
Storm - Ororo is a mistress of thieves, queen of lock pickers, and the empress of stealth. Using her stealth tactics she once defeated Cyclops in a battle without her mutant abilities. While growing up on the streets of Cairo, Egypt as an orphan, her only means of staying alive were begging and stealing. She became a master thief. With the added skill of her mutant ability, she is now probably even more capable of thieving than Gambit.

{Snow}
The Facts - The interface between ice and air is not always a simple boundary, and near the melting point the surface undergoes a surface melting transition, forming what is sometimes called a quasi-liquid layer. The thickness of the layer is small at lower temperatures, just a few molecular layers at -10 C, and becomes thicker at higher temperatures. The layer thickness grows very rapidly near the melting temperature, until it encompasses the entire solid at the melting point.

Storm - I know those facts were rather vague, but the whole point is that it's cold. Dangerously cold! To freeze the enemy is a minor worry, for it's just as easy as snow. After the enemy is frozen, they basically stand no chance. She could easily finish 'em off with a little lightning, if they're not already dead from the extreme cold.

{Hurricane}

The Facts - A hurricane is a type of tropical cyclone, which is a generic term for a low-pressure system that generally forms in the tropics. The cyclone is accompanied by thunderstorms and, in the Northern Hemisphere, a counterclockwise circulation of winds near the earth's surface. They start at 75 mph and can reach higher levels! They cause flooding, high winds, tornados, and much more. The damage they cause has no limits. It can destroy entire cities, and in small states like Rhode Island, the whole state can suffer devastation.

Storm - No need to really explain this. With the ability to manipulate these powerful hurricanes I really have to wonder why any mutant that opposes Storm survives. Oh the awesome power! Still dare to weather the Storm?

{Hail}
The Facts - Hail can be as small as a pea or as large as a baseball. Hail can break windows, damage roofs, dent cars and airplanes, and occasionally injure or kill people. It causes hundreds of millions of dollars of damage to crops each year. Hail damage is greater when the wind is strong. They fall at a speed of about 22 miles (35 kilometers) per hour or more.

Storm - Can you imagine being hit by jagged pieces of ice that are the size of baseballs, falling from the altitude of the clouds? Not only will this rip clothing and skin apart, but it damages all type of synthetic and natural habitat to a point where it can't be repaired at times. If it can do this type of damage to iron and wood, how much more can human flesh or clothing withstand it? Not to mention the freezing temperatures that produces the ice storms...

{Tornadoes}

The Facts - Tornadoes release lots of energy. A tornado with wind speeds of 200 mph will release kinetic energy at the rate of 1 billion watts -- about equal to the electricity output of a pair of large nuclear reactors. But the large thunderstorms that spawn tornadoes are immensely more powerful, releasing latent heat at the rate of 40 trillion watts -- 40,000 times as powerful as the twister.

Storm - Since Storm has the ability to make tornadoes it means she has power over the very currents of air around her. Tornadoes aren't just formed from air either. The storm's that cause them are even more powerful than the tornado itself, so if Storm can make the tornado there is no doubt that she can make the storms that cause them. This is an easy attack for Storm, one that she can take out a GREAT number of enemies in a very short period of time.

{Dust storms and Down bursts}
The Facts - Taken from Channel4.com - Dust Storm's Threats to Life - 1. Suffocation due to dust inhalation. 2. Extremely low visibility on roads and in the air, leading to loss of orientation and high likelihood of accidents.

Storm - This weapon is both offensive and defensive, supplying Storm with coverage from attack while also threatening to suffocate any enemy who breathes.
