Downbursts
The Facts – Dry air enters thunderstorms and is cooled by rain, creating cold air. Because hot air rises, cold air [air that lacks heat] falls. In cases of downbursts these falling winds blast down with such power that the damage they cause are sometimes attributed to tornadoes. However, it’s important to note that downbursts, microbursts, and macrobursts are not tornadoes. These powerful blasts of airs have been known to flatten buildings and cause airplanes, weighing 255,000 lbs to crash.

Storm – This is especially useful for Storm in an aerial battle. The interesting thing is that, although downbursts seem to take quite a while to conjure up, the entire scenario gives Storm plenty of coverage to do it. If she creates a thunderstorm, her enemy will already be trying to fight off the lightning and high winds, not to mention having a hard time trying to pinpoint Storm’s location because of the heavy clouds and rain. In this scenario she has created the perfect environment where she can stealthily cause a downburst. Because these bursts can be immense [4 miles in diameter] and small [under 1 mile in diameter] she could take out her enemy without posing any danger to herself. If it can take out a Boeing 757 it can definitely take out her flying opponents

Gossip involving Storm within X3:
1.Wizard Magazine confirms in the magazine that there will be a Storm/Wolveine love story in the new movie.
{My views}{I always thought Remy/Ororo or Scott/Ororo would be a good pairing but before those pairs I use to love the ro/lo combo, not sure how I feel about the storyline. I'm hoping that Storm won't become some rebound girl for Logan because 'Red'-I really hate jean grey - is believed to have died. -.- that would majorly suck and make me angry.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who sees this but has anyone noticed how Kitty, I mean Sabretooth, has a sick fascination with Storm? If they show him in X3 how will he feel if Logan gets his 'frail' before him. o_o I hope there's a love triangle 😱 . Oh and ofcourse they must show the relationship between Gambit and Storm or else I'll be very angry 😠 .
{more gossip regarding X3}Leech has been casted so I'm pretty sure morlocks are going to appear in X-3.
Kelsey Grammar might be playing Beast, which I think is a great idea!

Have you been reading Uncanny lately? It's all a twisted love story. Logan and Ororo are "in love" but it's not really working for us, the fans, it seems forced I think.

She does no such thing. You're seeing what you want to see. She generates a pressure dome that deflects falling debris, not an entire mountain. She flies the team out with her winds, while the dome deflects debris.

Didn't see her do anything like that. If you mean when they're investigating the murder, she consciously switches to perceiving electrical energy patterns, she doesn't always see things that way.

I see lightning attacking Candra's telekinetic shield. I see winds deflecting telekinetic attack. Could be a lightning shield though I guess. Doesn't look like it.

She doesn't generate an electromagnetic spectrum. That's ridiculous. The electromagnetic spectrum consists of everything from gamma rays to radio waves and more. She claims to generate an electromagnetic field. All I see is an electrical field.

To be fair X its still an impressive feat and she bursts through th emountain with her pressure dome. It allows her to just fly straight through it with her team mates.

X-treme X-Men #14

She can see both normally and she can see the world around her as energy patterns. Thats even more impressive than her seeing it in terms of energy patterns as standard. It makes for versatility.

X-Men Annual #3

Surely thats just because of the artists interpretation. If she claims to generate an electromagnetic field around her and you see a field around her in the comic why would you not believe it?

No theyre not and real world science isnt the same as comic book science. Storm flew on solar winds and destroyed the Sentinel with those same winds as stated in the comic. StormFront never exaggerated at all. There is nothing to debate on that issue. Whether it can happen in the real world or not is irrelevant

and yes, you are right... the sciences arent the same... but there is a such thing as pushing it...

so your whole point was that it couldn't happen int he real world? why didn't you just say that instead of telling me what I already know?

I'm surprized this thread got to 3 pages. That, sadly, has to be the largest thread I've ever had on any forum. I may have had larger. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Question: If Storm can create pressure domes of immense pressure, can she make domes of zero pressure, thus resulting in the enemy's blowing up? If anyone knows, do tell.

Any dome like that would have some effect on her too...

Sorry, no it wouldn't. Her powers shield her from her attacks. She'd be unaffected. Her body is made to weather the weather. No pun intended.

you obviously didn't explain it well enough, and she controls the dome, she could possibly make the affects not reach her. she created a boll of pressure with pressure over that of jupiter and everyone near her didn't feel a thing.

She cant possibly control the dome like that... she'd have to create an even more intense field to protect her... it wouldnt be easy...

the only other person who responded was galactic, and you said nothing about how it can't happen in the real world, so anyone could missunderstand. and the way you were talking about it you were talking about 2 completley different issues. and she already has controlled a dome with very high power where no one around her was harmed, it can happen again. and no one said it would be easy, he just asked if she could do it which she probably could.
