He's aristocratic, condescending, and overall a well written antagonist with an interesting set of powers stemming from one specific ability.

Ah, I see. Well that's nice. Always good to have a favorite.

I'm personally not a Bleach anime fan, but if this arc is animated then I'll watch it. I'm curious to see how much I got right, and I'm considering to reread it because my Japanese improved drastically during the process of reading it.

Since there won't be any chapter this week, or the week after that, feel free to ask me questions regarding the series.

Well the anime at the moment has been cancelled so that's not likely unfortunately.

So he's Byakuya?

Wouldn't really say Byakuya was a "well-written" antagonist, though he was a cool one.

His motivations for being an antagonist were hopelessly retarded.

edit- Why is there no Bleach for the next two weeks? Don't tell me there's another ****ing Japanese holiday?

There isn't? D:!

Dunno. Just going off of what Astner said.

How did I miss that?

God...Bleach is actually entertaining me more than One Piece at the moment. This sucks...

Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait to see Kenpachi get his teeth kicked in gloriously.

Out.

Liar

I feel kind of bad now, though. I hope he doesn't have cancer or something.

Same here. Kubo seems like a nice guy, even if his writing is a bit...meh.

Well I can wait. Breaks due to sickness are always acceptable.

Actually he was. He held conflicting oaths.

At the same time his reasoning for his action seemed well thought-thorough. How can the nobles expect the people to follow their laws if the nobles themselves don't?

So he's Byakuya?

No. Azashirō had no respect for the current order of Soul society.

It's a false dilemma. False dilemmas aren't good motivations for becoming antagonists.

How....

Is that not a false dilemma?

You trollin'?

My girlfriend introduced me to Bleach a little while ago, I watched season 1 and enjoyed it quite a bit. But then I turned to season 2 and 3 that in my mind were amazing, after the thrilling plot of Aizen I couldn't wait to see what would happen in season 4 and 5 (which I promptly bought after seeing 2 and 3)....

So what the hell happened? This Bount plot is some of the worst things I've ever seen, it's just plain boring, makes no sense (the only reason the Bounts are a threat is because people are being morons, take one look at an episode in season 5 where Rukia had about 5 chances to just kill one Bount who was defenseless, but Rukia just stood there staring at the defenseless Bount, five times...) and keeps us away from the interesting Aizen plot.

Anyway I am slowly torturing myself past season 5 now (going slow as I have to force myself to watch them), hoping season 6 will be better.

However I also have some questions for those of you who might know this show better than me; what is actually Soul Society, and how does the afterlife work in this universe?

I know we have the Living World, then people die and appear in Soul Society (as seen from the parrot kid Sado helped in season 1). However at the same time we see that Rukia and Renji both grew up in Soul Society, indicating that they did not die in the Living World (unless they died in childbirth...?) but were actually born into Soul Society. Then we have the "souls waiting to be reborn" as was shown in season 4 when discussing the creation of the Bounts, where do these souls come from?

Also in season 5 we are told the inhabitants of Soul Society can't die (when the chief Bount bets his life in a game of cards, he's laughed at), then how come everyone thought Aizen was dead when they found his corpse, and what of everyone Aizen killed in the...hidden base I don't remember the name of...? So what's the deal, can or can they not die when in Soul Society?

Final question; where did the soul of Orihime's body go after Ichigo saved him in season 1, Soul Society or somewhere else?

Love the show, but really want to make some more sense of the cosmology.

What?

edit- Morridini, ignore the Bount arc. It's just filler and isn't apart of the actual canon.

Yeah just read the manga. Otherwise you will get filler that makes no sense in context.

Well I bought the DVDs, so I'm going to watch them all before I continue on.

I don't like the artstyle for manga, I prefer them much more as anime, so I'll stick to the show.
