I gotta give Kubo props for Shunsui's powers though, pretty original and creative for him. Also, I like how he proves himself to be one of the strongest in the series with this, taking Stark on alone and whatnot with only his Shikai.

^^ And that right there only proves that Stark ain't dead.

Also, this chapter did a good job of putting things in perspective. Just cuz you're a Vizard doesn't mean you're stronger than normal shinigami automatically.

1. One of the strongest captains is hardly a normal shinigami. (I know you mean an un-vizard shinigami. But I'm posting that anyway as it still applies.)

2. His Shikai ability is "h@x0r l33t" like Aizen's. It's kind of cheating.

3. It's stated a few times and implied an absurd amount at others that the Vizard form amps a shinigami's powers. Not just a little, either.

Only problem for Shunsui is that his shikai can hurt him as well. He has to fight smart. His bankai...probably doesn't even need it against most opponents.

Though I hope Starrk forces Shunsui to reveal his bankai, the Primera shouldn't fall to a shikai, no matter how powerful/broken it is.

yeah, if Stark can't make Shunsui use his bankai then that would be pretty pathetic.

I'm pretty sure that we're about to see more or less what Starrk's true form was before he split into Lilinette. It'd be awesome if it were a woman, maybe an adult version of Lilnette. Shunsui, being the womanizer he is, might find going all out against her a bit difficult.

So long as he doesn't try to woo this hypothetical female Starrk, he should be fine. He'll get WTF owned (comedic style) if he does woo her.

WTF Aizen ust cut down Halibel for no apparent reason other than she was taking too long to defeat Toshiro and company.

Either he's saying the truth (he's through with using them, i.e. he just needed muscle until he could make his move, which is now), or this is some huge-a** illusion that he has cast.

I'm inclined towards the former. I wonder if he'll cut down Tosen and Gin should they not be powerful enough.

Also, Starrk nearly looked like a human while he was a Vasto Lorde hollow. I don't know what Halibel looked like as a hollow, same goes for Uluqiorra. Barragan was a skeleton.

Grimmjow, Yammy (& perhaps Stark) are the only Espada remaining.

maybe they underwent shinigamification as they separated and that's why they don't have masks in the flashback

Decent chapter, though the Vaizards look pretty weak. One of them was a captain 100 years ago and he still looks to be that level :/

You could be right. The mask wasn't fully formed when they showed Starrk talking to Aizen.

And where's her flashback?

She's not good enough for one 😛.

It should be in next week's chapter (as she dies, she'll have it most likely)

no kidding. I'm kinda dissapointed. I thought Starrk and Halibel would last longer. then again, maybe Starrk isn't dead. you never know with the creators.

Is it just me, or was the death of the top three Espada rather...Anti-climactic?
