the forest of Fangorn. tolkien describes how it is so well, you really can imagine the closed and damp mood of the place, and the wonderful sights when the rare sight of the sun shining in on the trees, revealing its wonderfull bright green colors.

I like Rivendell because it's the house of an elf and second because the atmosphere is calm and peaceful but anytime they can reject a powerful enemy (brcause of their military strenght)

Rinvendell's very nice too, but not that military powered. I'm sure the elfes would make a hell of a fight but....need reinforcements

Rivendell is pretty well guarded.Do you remember when Elrond said that the ring cannot stay there because they will resist but after a long time they will be forced to surrender.
