It was before you were born child.

I started working here when Ock decided to turn supervisor. lol Now I'm giving you five seconds to get off that bar before I turn your insides into your outsides. I just cleaned this damn thing. Oh yeah Backspace, that is a black olive.

[goes to kitchen, comes out 15 minutes later with t-bone steak and places plate down in front of Sym while setting a fork on Logan's plate]

Here ya go Sym. Be right back.

[walks down into cellar and emerges with Clarendon Hills 2003 Romas Grenache and pours a cup]

Here's your wine. We've had a lot of compliments of this one.

GET OFF BAR!!!!!!!!! you are going to stop me!...I dare you to touch me...trust me I am a very touchy person and i can get VERY grusome.

*Gets off counter and gets right into DRACHES face**

Not being mean or anything buddy but dont threaten me in ANY way ever again. I will rip you apart!.

Now then, since we are all freinds here about anyohter stake..i thikn i deserve it since i gave you well over $50 this morning 😄

[smiles deviously]

Listen here little mister, you may be hot stuff out on the street, but in here, you are severely outclassed. Now I'd hate to trash this bar with your body, but, if you ever get in my face again and threaten me, it's on. Now, how would you like your steak?

You......you would rip me apart...!...? You and what army?
**instead of 4 seconds under the lighter how about 2 this time**

Your not even quick enough to touch me buddy, so please dont make me laugh again..YOU threaten ME....pfffffff.. 😆 😆

God dammit someone give me a large scotch now!!!!

*Slams tentacle on bar*

The 'fans' in the villain thread are so clueless I'm amazed they know who Spider-Man is.

[fills Waterford crystal tumbler with Maker's Mark and passes it over to the nearest angry tentacle; presents Havana cigar to another tentacle, and crystal table-lighter to yet another]

I feel your pain; from recent events, I'm beginning if well over half the fan-base knows not only who Spidey is, but who -anyone- else is. It's like me and them are talking about completely different characters. "Oh Brock is Peter's twin! They should look exactly alike, too!" Where the f*** does this **** come from?!

Im outta my league here.

[holds steak above lighter for 2 seconds and slams it down on the plate]

Here. Thanks for covering Ock for me Sym. I agree that sometimes these fans can be quite ignorant. Gets on even my nerves.

[walks over to juke box and stares at dent in the top]

Ock, you're gonna have to stop smacking this thing.. You're gonna break it one day.

[looks for good music on the dented machine]

That's better.

It pushes one's patience to the limit when you see so called Spider-Man fans embracing the idea of butchering well loved characters on screen. It's not only very annoying but sad too.

I still hold hope that air head Dunst is spouting crap.If someone else in the cast announced it then I'd really be worried.

Drache the duke box is fine.If I happen to smash it over some Gopherite's head then it was money well spent 😈

Im beggining to think that Dunst is wrong..like how she announced the lizard to be in SM2....did that happen? Nope....but then the other thing makes me think that she is rigth because Sam said that both villains will have major CGI done to them..I mean Venom and sandman will both take some major CGI....But i really dont know....And Ock you no how you said "am i the only one that reads the comics!?" Well the movie really doesnt have to follow the comics...They can do whatever they want.....Alot of people who see teh Spiderman movies have never read the comics....Just a thought.....

**How about a Bloody Mary DRACHE!!!***thanks 🙂

God damn, that's a badass animation.

Ock, do you honestly think there's any saving this trashy franchise? I know you loved seeing Molina playing a bastardized version of the coolest Spidey villain ever (and I did too), but the brilliance of the actor's performance, the prop construction and the special effects merely detract from the fact that these people (the producers, director and screenwriters) don't know how to make a proper Spider-Man film and they simply don't care.

"Gopher"-- as you so venomously call him-- being cast as Venom is my dream come true for this movie. You see how you and Symbiotica and hundreds of true fans are objecting vehemently? You see how only people who don't know or care about how a Spider-Man story is supposed to be when brought to the big screen? There's no more room for ambiguity now. I'm thinking there will at least be dozens of fans who once supported these hacks with all their heart who will turn away from the path of the prattling sycophant.

Just like how a few people who supported anything J. Michael Straczinsky did on Spider-Man turned away as soon as the big, sleazy revelation was made. Of course, many others stayed loyal to JMS, and a few of those nattering little wastes of flesh are constantly talking behind my back in the "Rex Mundi" thread over in our other playground.

Last night, at the same time I was chatting with you before my woman pulled me away to watch a DVD, I began re-explaining what may become my next protege (I still have at least one other protege under my grizzled wing) about my "scorched earth" view of the Spider-Man movies and why I'm pleased with this horrendous casting decision to make Topher Grace the poor man's Venom we'll see in a couple of years. I made the analogy of the current state of the United States of America. While you may be a damn, dirty foreigner who is spared the incompetent and malevolent governance of the American President, I have to live here. Thus, I have to live around people who blindly and harmfully support an inadequate and ultimately apocalyptic demagogue, even though all common sense says they should do otherwise. In the beginning of his reign of terror, there might have been some ambiguity as to whether the people who supported him were scumbags, as he had yet to reach the supervillain status he has today. Right now, after all that's happened, anyone who still supports that maniac is just plain stupid and/or evil. Thus, the ambiguity is gone. The line has been drawn, and I don't have to think twice about calling someone a mutinous traitor and scumbag if I see that they support this supervillain of a leader.

The same essentially applies to the Spider-Man movies. Either you are a blindly devoted, sycophantic non-fan, or you are something else. Maybe a real fan, maybe someone who simply bleats along with the real fans who are upset, but we know that people who support this decision are not true fans. We know the wheat from the chaff now, with no ambiguity about "Gopher for Venom"-supporters.

I realize some people might find it unreasonable to compare high-level politics to movie fanbases, but the maxim is the same in each case. Human behavior is consistent through all venues. It doesn't mean a particular person will act the same in all situations, but when you see similar behavior apply to different situations, it's usually the same drives and weaknesses at work.
Furthermore, I turn to superhero fiction in all media to escape from the crippling depression that results from the constant mishandling of important, real-life issues. All these sheep do is remind me that I can't avoid suffering the presence of tribalistic stupidity and bad judgement.

Rant over. For now...

I know what you're saying. And politics is a good comparison.I mean obviously the ramifications of bad casting is nothing to the ramifications of bad presidents or men in power. But I like the analogy.

I still like the Spider-Man movies. Are they perfect?? Hell no.Are they near perfect?? Hell no again. Are they entertaining?? In alot of parts yes.

There are some good actors in there like J.K. Simmons,Rosemary Harris and of course our villains Alfred Molina and Willem Dafoe.

In these movies we get glimpses of the comics brought to life and what a truely great Spider-Man movie could be.I am not expecting the earth, moon and the stars from SM-3.

I was for SM-2.And it didn't happen.Lesson learned.

And with recent revelations my expectations have hit rock bottom.I sincerely hope Gopher is not Venom, and so do any true fans.

You I know do as it will be the final nail in the coffin. But I still hope for a somewhat enjoyable Spider-Man flick.

*Sigh* Another scotch Drache.I'm feeling depressed with all this Gopher talk.

I must have a leak in my brain, and everywhere I go, depression seems to spread.

So it goes.

*slams hands down on counter* Drache!!

Another Roy Rogers, extra grenadine, and another bacon cheeseburger, please. And if you put onions and tomatoes on this one, the next sandwich you make is going to have your fingers in it!

I forgot to mention I didn't want onions or tomatoes last time, didn't I? Ah well... the rule stands.

Ah no you didn't depress me.

The Gopherites do 😉

keep your hopes up.....im guessing Dunst is just talking out of her ass like the Lizard thing........Im sure she is wrong..again...

[slides a glass of scotch toward one of Ock tentacles while fixing Logan's Roy Rogers extra grenadine]

Here ya go.

[walks into kitchen and emerges with Logan's bacon cheeseburger, checking AGAIN to make sure there are no onions or tomatoes]

Here ya go again. You know Logan, I completely agree with you on the president thing. The guy's an incompotent jackass. I was still, what, 12 when he took office? I'm now 4 years older and 4 years wiser. The guy's just.. Blegh.. I've had many discussions on this subject at school and on the net and anywhere in between. The guy's ruining America, be thankful you're not here Ock. Anyway, I'd liek to see Venom in a movie, but casting Topher was not the the best move, hell it wasn't even a good move. But like I said before, they have to have a reason to do so. I'm not saying I like the idea, I'm just saying they probably have a reason to do so. Oh, that's right..

Mmm... sustenance...

Ain't no reason good enough for choosing Topher Grace for Venom. None at all. Just like there's no good reason to vote for George W. Bush and carry out his twisted wishes.

Now, down to business:
Doc Ock-- What do you know about Abaddon? Ever seen him act friendly with our enemies over at the Hype?
Check the recent entries in my Safe Haven and your Lair. Makes you think.

[leans on bar]

Now by sustenance Logan, did you mean the food, or the fact that I seem to be supporting the Grace/Venom thing?
