i always thought they were fairly ancient..i know that ultimate namor said he was a million years more advnaced than reg humans, but in comparison to "our" cavemen i always understood that 616 predates them at least by a few hundred thousand years...cuz you gotta realize that as advanced as they are they must have gone thru a neanderthal and cro magnon phase of thier own...
not that this will hold any water as everyone seems to passionately hate hudlin, but we all know that t'challa told doom that wakandans were charting the stars while white ppl was still living in caves in Europe, and in another BP issue they made mention that some of Wakanda's architecture is eeriely similar to Atlantis..meaning that both cultures probably broke bread a very long time ago in the earliest stages of wakandan history. perhaps it was even a kree-inhuman kind of thing where the more advanced race wanted to study a "lesser" one. so what i take from that is atlantis was a fairly advnaced race, im thinking ancient Greece lvl, while our homo sapiens was just coming into form all those ancient B.C.'s ago😄...thats just a guess anyway, id have to dig up all those old handbooks to learn thier history
Atlantean civilization is pretty much older then any continuing civilization that is currently still on. I believe that longest lasting civilization of humans is some African one, 17000 years, whereas Atlanteans have been constant for 21000 years. Of course, if we take it by only the water breathing state, it is about 5000-10000 years old, and they had their barbaric times too.
Atlantis and Wakanda on the other hand...don't remember ever having read about their relations. Nobody really knew about Atlantis before Namor. Namor also was the first one to meet with Wakanda, when he met Black Panther's grandfather...
No offense Manjaro, but I'm not gonna listen to Huldin. The whole Doom issue is stupid for one damn reason and one damn reason only. Doom is Roma.
I know Roma can be racist, and that's not my arugement. However, when a privileged King (upper class in his culture) calls a Roma (lowest class in Europe) out for Upper Class White man's crimes, I tend to shake my head and conclude the author is an idiot.
That said...
Doesn't Atlantis have connections with the Inhumans and not Wakanda? I swear to gosh, I think the editors in Marvel just let Hudlin do whatever and since no one seems to take cue from PB (thank god), all of this is going to dissapear in a few years.
Connections in Inhumans are definite. Namor is one of Triton's best friends, and Triton was one of Namor's mother's best friends, and Namor owes an HUGE favor to Black Bolt.

Namor appeared in New Avengers: Illuminati #1. The issue portrayed him pretty damn well.
SPOILERS BELOW, DO NOT READ.
LAST WARNING
So...kind of torn with this one though, on the other hand they are just warriors who tried to kill him, and it is kind of badass to see him laugh cold-hearted to their demise, on the other hand...never seen him enjoy that much about his enemy's death.

Well, they get captured by Skrulls (like someone predicted, Strange and Black Bolt were downplayed, although both did a lot of badass stuff in this issue, ESPECIALLY Strange.) This is pretty amazing feat though, as only 0.9 of Namor's body moisture was left and he still survives. Tony was badass in this issue too (I might just scan the whole thing if anyone wants).
Oh yeah, and Bendis actually acknowledged that Namor is a mutant (Homo Superior in particular)...haven't seen a writer to do that in years.

Looks like Namor still has a soft spot for Richards...he goes and practically kills the people who torture him.

All in all, I'd give this issue 8 for writing and 9 for art, which was spectacular.

Good issue. I enjoyed Namor's portrayal, and i don't think Strange and BB were downplayed much. Black Bolt wanted them to open the back hatch, so he could scream at them all i assume. That would've been badass.
Hmm, I haven't seen this page from MK #30 before...it's pretty funny.

"NRAMA: First of all, your marketing guys gave us this image for this week's Q&A and said it was from a new Namor title with Michael Turner on covers that spins out of Civil War and Front Line.
The background visuals are interesting to say the least... anything to add?
JQ: More on it next week,"
Oh, i freaking hope so!
