The Information Brokers

In the giant "Metropolis", the last city existing on earth, politics have become more violent than ever. Many different politicians try to gain control of Metropolis and only few resort to words to gain control. Assassinations are everyday, assassins can be found for even the most difficult kills. But a new politician has entered the stage. "Prolocutor" as he calls himself seeks to use no violence at all. That's something unheard of in Metropolis for, well since it's founding. But he knows that he can't win fairly. But he won't betray his little promise.

This is where the players come in. They are information brokers, hired by Prolocutor to blackmail and trick the opposition. There is only one rule: no violence.

Metropolis: Imagine Coruscant from SW. The upper levels are for the rich and the ground is crawling with criminals trying to make it upwards even a few inches.

Metrpolis' Citizens: The criminal underworld is big. In the lower levels pretty much everyone is criminal and gangs rule. But in the upper levels criminals are less obvious although people are just as corrupt. You ask why they aren't as open about their crimes? The AI simply known as the Watcher has a whole army of robots under it's control to keep scum from illegaly making their way upwards and keeping order in the skies. That is why blackmail is so useful, once somebody's crimes are revealed they might as well take a leap from their skyscrapers.

Player Chars: I'm working on a CS but here's roundabout info. There will be all kinds of informats. Computer wizzes, undercover spies etc. But there'll also be men and women of action Sabotage Specialists, bodyguards etc.

The way it will be played: the players will choose one of the many roles that they can fill (working on a list). This RP will be more focused on teamwork and character development than fast-paced action. I like to dose explosions and the like very carefully to make sure that they improve the tension instead of turning this thing into some rambo RP where people just leap from one boom to another one. Depending on the role (I'm working on a system that will keep everybody working together without limiting choice of designation) the experience will defer quite a bit.

I will just say that I'm undercover as a securityguard while starry is the computer wizz and MadMel is a saboteur armed with an explosive. In this case starry is the "narrator" because she has hacked the security cams. She'll inform me and MadMel on dangers. My job is then to distract other, real, security men from whatever MadMel is doing while he sneaks around and avoids everybody. Get what I mean?

They Were Hiding.

Okay, so this is kind of a fanfic roleplay of a book that I was really interested in! I've never actually MADE a Rp board, nor have I asked for permission but I believe that this catagory would be interesting, and hopefully would turn out popular.

This is the overall plot:
Set in the future, the second civil war is fought over abortion. To end the war, a compromise is reached that ends the practice of abortion but creates an alternative called "unwinding." Between the ages of 13 and 17, parents or guardians can choose to have their children unwound, which involves having every part of their bodies harvested to be "donated" to another person so, technically, they don't really die.

Things you should know before starting:
(Including type's of Unwinds, Locations, and other terms that will be used or mentioned)
Bill of Life - The legislative bill signed after the Heartland War, which made abortion illegal but establishes unwinding and storking as acceptable.

Heartland War - A second Civil War that was fought in the United States. The opposing armies were pro-life and pro-choice.

Storking - Leaving a child on a doorstep to be raised by another family. If someone is caught storking a child they must keep the child, but if they aren't then the family who finds the child must keep it.

Harvest Camp - Camps where large numbers of Unwinds go to be "harvested."

AWOL - Military term meaning "absent without leave." Used in the novel to describe runaway Unwinds.

StaHo - Abbreviated version of "state home," which is a state-run orphanage.

Graveyard - A place where planes are scrapped. In the novel, Unwinds hide there until they turn 18 and are safe from unwinding.

Antique Shop - One of the many temporary hiding places for unwinds who are en route to the Graveyard.

The "Goldens" - The five Unwinds who work right under The Admiral.

Umber - Dark-skinned

Sienna - Light-skinned

Clappers - Terrorists who blow things up by clapping, which ignites explosive substances they've injected into their blood.

If accepted, I will go right away into making the character fill out sheet! 🙂 I hope someone finds it interesting!

O.o thats some serious messed up shit, lol.

What's the story?

It just seemed kinda fun to re-do onto here.
The story? Unwind.
Of if your talking about what will kind of happened, you can choose from being an adult (Either a doctor, or the police), a unwind preparing to be unwound, or of course and escapee, whose goal is to hide and get as far away from the community as possible so they will not be unwound.

I was thinking like you could be a 13 yr old freedom fighter with a shot gun strapped to your back and a jacket full of ass hole stopping power.

I'm not really clear on the strength of the resistance (the kids) either.

think slavery.. and the underground railroad type stuff. the strength is secret. and mainly relies on people who are sympathetic to it. or.. it might be better to think of nazi's and jews.. O_o..

Ehhh,
It was worth a try, to try and get this on here. ^^;;;

Now I want to play a rp that has bad ass kids fighting for freedom...if I had a computer I would so make one!

Flat out,
I just want to rp. I miss it. It's been six years since I last roleplayed on here, aha!

Then propose a less complex idea! 😉

I think I'm better at finding threads, rather than making them. XD

Thinking of an idea... Inspired by Matthias Fenris and his whole "Funny RP" thing.

Anyone want to throw in any details of what they would want if I did an RP that was made purely for "Comedy"?
