I might post when you do.

Stargate: Emergence

A new team. A new day. Another fight. Two galaxies to save.

Delve into the life of SG-12 as they step through the gate on another seemingly routine mission that will eventually blow the galaxy apart. Face never before heard of enemies, forge new alliances and lose close friends as the threat emerges from the darkness of space.

Their words echo through time - "We have come."

Hazmat: The Delta Contagion

A re-imagining of the first epic RP game run on these very forums, follow Hazmat Team Delta and Echo as they search for team Charlie that was sent in earlier and disappeared. With a twisty plot, secret orders, and a full on infected epidemic at a hidden military research out-post under the U.S. city of Canden [or submit name here]. How different will this story be? What will you do different?

You are a part of an elite combat rated Hazmat unit part of the United States Marine Corp, wearing the latest technology in combat hazard suits. Your mission is simple. Find Team Charlie, and complete the mission. The mission; locate and retrieve documents, samples, and assess damages to property.

OR

Well I don't mind at all.

I'm game for both, though know little on both situations. Before actually jumping in I would need a run down on any available technology and need-to-know information. That can usually all be taken care of in the Information OOC, but as we've seen some people don't include that. Just letting you know.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g70oqUnzeu0&feature=related That should cover it for Hazmat, give you the right idea a least. Infact I have been thinking of doing an Rp set in Area 51 based on the game, which is partially the inspiration for Hazmat is anyway.

Watching it now. Stomach hurting. Ugh...

You hungry, mate?

Might be. So I'm trying to think of a few ideas for RP right now. I'm really tempted to propose an Elsword RP, lol. Doubt most people would be interested. The game itself has so few players as it is.

EDIT: Okay, I watched all of it. I'm left with a lot of questions though.

1. What kind of weapons will we get?
2. Is there a limit to the numbers on our team?
3. What is our primary objective?
4. Will we be inside of the facility, if so is it narrow or spread out (will we be breaking off from each other)
5. The enemies that we find will be a mixture of "infected" and "aliens" (Aliens means more "Larger" creatures that don't die from getting shot once.)
6. Is there a time limit once inside?
7. What are hazards that we would face?

Well I can do Hazmat as above, or a similar game set in Area 51 following Haz Team Delta based on the events of the game.

I edited my last post, make sure to answer those questions. It's up to you, I'm joining no matter what. I like the idea so far.

1. What kind of weapons will we get?

In all 3 mentioned games, we are talking conventional real-world weapons and ordnance or similar, in the case of the Area 51 and Stargate alien based weaponry will exist.

2. Is there a limit to the numbers on our team?

The number can vary but generally 4-5 to a team. However additional personel in the case of the Hazmats can be picked up along the way- survivors ect.

3. What is our primary objective?

That depends on the game. In the case of the Hazmat/Area 51 one there would be varios objectives such as retrieve items, rig detonators, link-up with other teams, re-enable computers, shut down or turn on power, find the source of somethoing, what ever objectives you want.

In the case of Stargate the objectives will vary, but will be more along the lines of standard recon on alien worlds and something maybe going wrong.

4. Will we be inside of the facility, if so is it narrow or spread out (will we be breaking off from each other)

It can be either. Both facilities are expansive, with a mix of various interior environments. In the case of Hazmat there is an entire city above as well.

5. The enemies that we find will be a mixture of "infected" and "aliens" (Aliens means more "Larger" creatures that don't die from getting shot once.)

Infected are no push over either. Hazmat will be Zombies and evolved forms of such, Area 51 will me mutations of humans akin to Zombies and such. Both would contain similar creatures.

6. Is there a time limit once inside?

Suspense and exploration are key! Well that is the question, you don't know.

7. What are hazards that we would face?

What ever hazards you encounter. Feel free to make it up too and craft the environment to your game and create your own story and path. So long as it is kept within reason.

I'm game for Hazmat although I don't know much about military stuff (only military game I played was blk ops. and I just ran around stabbing people. ;p)

1. What kind of weapons will we get?

In all 3 mentioned games, we are talking conventional real-world weapons and ordnance or similar, in the case of the Area 51 and Stargate alien based weaponry will exist.

Perhaps if you make the thread, you can add another thread like "Hazmat: Weapons & Equipment". Nobody will post in that thread, just use it as a means to show and explain all the stuff that we have access to.

2. Is there a limit to the numbers on our team?

The number can vary but generally 4-5 to a team. However additional personel in the case of the Hazmats can be picked up along the way- survivors ect.

So each person gets 1 character to start off, but we can make more characters for a team that was already in there but was maybe wiped out?

I asked primary objective. What is the main goal of the RP, when would it reach an end. We're not going in there for a life sentence I wouldn't think, so there must be some official objective that is a higher priority then all others.

Like with the Weapons and Equipment, I think that we should have a thread dedicated to detailing our enemies so that we can reference it. It would be nice to know what it takes to kill the "known" targets at least.

6. Is there a time limit once inside?

Suspense and exploration are key! Well that is the question, you don't know.

So being inside of the place for too long has no consequences. Our air supply won't be contaminated and we won't suddenly start to get infected?

7. What are hazards that we would face?

What ever hazards you encounter. Feel free to make it up too and craft the environment to your game and create your own story and path. So long as it is kept within reason.

Reference back to my last question. Will we have to worry about toxins in the air? Will there be falling debris that is dangerous to us? Are there any possible dangers involved in just being there, aside from getting our face mauled by a Zombie Tank, lol.

I'm afraid I don't care much for the Stargate series, though I occasionally watch SG-1 with my dad. The hazmat does sound interesting, though, regardless of whether or not you decide to emulate Area 51.

Man, I still remember the old light-gun arcade cabinet. That game was hilarious.

Sure. Will consider that.

Not quite. I can't give away plot points. Generally you will stick with your main character and if I allow it another character, or more but unrelated to the missing team.

3. What is our primary objective?

That depends on the game. In the case of the Hazmat/Area 51 one there would be varios objectives such as retrieve items, rig detonators, link-up with other teams, re-enable computers, shut down or turn on power, find the source of something, what ever objectives you want.

Going only with Hazmat/Area 51 your primary objective would be to go in locate team Charlie, and complete charlie's "apparent" mission which would be retrieval of the samples, and data pertaining.

4. Will we be inside of the facility, if so is it narrow or spread out (will we be breaking off from each other)

It can be either. Both facilities are expansive, with a mix of various interior environments. In the case of Hazmat there is an entire city above as well.

There are no "known" targets at this point.

You don't know. I never said there weren't any, I am just saying that you aren't aware of any at this point. Either command haven't informed you, or they will inform you later, or like you said there aren't any. You are not aware of any threats prior to the mission.

7. What are hazards that we would face?

What ever hazards you encounter. Feel free to make it up too and craft the environment to your game and create your own story and path. So long as it is kept within reason.

You know nothing of any zombies. The facility is intact but in lock down in the case of Hazmat, and the military have cordoned off all the major entrances. You are wearing Hazard suits, one thing you will have to be aware of is suit power levels and oxygen supply when the air is not clean. (And suit damage)

If there ends up being enough attention to garner an actual game thread, might I suggest a Character Archive to hold all pertinent character creation information? I'd be perfectly willing to create it myself. I would just need the necessary starting material, and any flavor you might want to throw in. I might want to add some of my own as well, but I'll leave that decision to you.

Maybe we should give it it's own section or moved to hosted because this seems to be how it is shaping up.

It can stay in Unhosted as far as I care. My only concern is having a place to easily access our character sheets. It's aggravating having to trawl through pages of OOC chatter just to find my guy's info.

-.- Xan, stop getting excited about making "Character Archives". You bring that up for every RP. Let's just go with the general assumption that we're going to make a Character Archive for every RP from now on.

This RP should have...
-Equipment Archive
-Character Archive
-Enemy Archive
-OOC for Discussion
-RP Thread itself

I like Hazmat, sounds cool. I'm in, though be warned I'm not great at Sci-Fi.

I also have an idea for a game, but it's more of a setting type of thing and is pretty clearly Fantasy. Not sure if it should be Hosted or Unhosted, though.

Hosted would be if you have a set storyline. Things will usually go exactly as you want them to go, everything is planned out or at least most everything is planned out.

Unhosted would be for something where you have a "base" idea, like "Three warriors were born in this village. They leave the village... Er... what happens then?" and other people get to help build on it.

Hosted is incredibly restricting, but a lot of people in unhosted tend to mistakenly make a hosted type of RP so it wouldn't be all too different.
