Depending on what type of plot we go with it would vary. If it's a Mecha Military it might switch between Planet (Outside), Military Base, Space type settings.
Mech Pirate would be varying ships as well as space but also perhaps lightspeed jumps for escaping making lightspeed combat which is always enjoyable.
The general idea of a "Mech" RP is what's up currently. No setting yet, no decision on the mech design. I wanted to see who's interested in piloting "mechs" in an RP to begin with before I develop on the plot.
My friend, Reina and I, have been watching (on occasion with my friend Fiona) a lot of anime involving partner and romance. Kiddy Grade, Dragonaut, stuff like that. The following is just about the connection between two characters.
Each player will control 2 characters. Those two characters will be "partners". First of all, I've mentioned this to a few people, but everyone should know of this. The reason I don't want to have two people playing each others partners (my character as the "main" with Starry as the "mech"😉 is because it becomes difficult if not impossible for two people to become uniquely connected to one another. The goal of the "Partnership" in this RP would be to have two characters who are so connected, who know each other so well, that nothing in the universe can break their bonds. How someone decides to act that out on more of a "Love" relationship or a "scornful" relationship, is their own choice.
First Try- Soul Unity
During the year 2000, an event occurred that shook the fabric of reality and re weaved it. To humans, the dominating creatures of the planet Earth, this was a subtle shake that they didn't notice. At the time, it may have even seemed insignificant but it set forth the events that would later make the rest of this possible. In the year 2025, mankind had made a discovery. That myths were no longer myths. Races came forth, ones that were not thought could possibly be real. Elves, Dwarves, creatures that we had believed not to exist. At first, there was great confrontation between the races. Humans did not like the idea of beings that were only a few years ago known as simple fantasy and fun stories to tell their children at night. With the help of the newly emerging races, human kind made a technological jump that had not been seen in the last 80+ years. Humans began to develop and unlock the potential of their whole bodies. Things such as "telepathy" became possible as the races helped them unlock their whole brains and their bodies fullest potential. Thanks to the advancement in technology, humans were able to reach further into the stars then ever thought before. 30 years later, space travel was as common as the commune from home to work. Galaxies were being populated by humans using travel through warp gates, created by ships known as "An Arc". The children of Earth were branching out and breeding on new planets, creating whole communities in a few years. With such an expansion on living conditions, more technology was developed.
Orbital Population Enduring Recon And Tactical Observation Reserves or O.P.E.R.A.T.O.R. By the year 2099, the Joint Council watching over the expansion and ruling over absolute authority decided that things were becoming too chaotic about the far reaching population. It was difficult enough to decide judgment over someone who had committed a crime several lights years away. With that, a new project came into play. "Project Operator". It was a simple idea. If you give a man a gun and a badge and tell him to do the right thing, he'll listen without question, right? That was not the case. Project Operator was meant to create a group of people trained to deal with multiple situations concerning the safety and function of all planets within galactic control. The problem began when people began to see this as an opportunity to do the "wrong" thing. After the case of 2104, Project Operator was silenced. Since then, 40 years have passed. It is 2144 and a new goal is now in mind. Project Operator was not a bad idea, it was simply an early one. Just as the events that had set the previous in play, this event too set something in play. "Project Unity".
Project Unity was an idea forged from the Operator Project. Of the races under galactic control, individuals would be picked out for their special talents. This was a great deal more then just being the best "sniper" in a platoon. This was an idea set on something that existed inside of them, a special property that made them unique. But there was more to it then that.. How to control someone who you give so much power without latching them up with chains? Make a chain that they would latch themselves to. "Project Partner". Nobody was ever sure where they came from, but it became known by public eye that those chosen for Project Unity became united with a new being. This being was their "Partner". The partners had the ability to transform into two known things. The first was a weapon, made ready for the operators hand only. A living weapon that responds to the operators thoughts and whos power grows thanks to a merger of the soul between the operator and the partner. The stronger their bond, for whatever cause, the stronger their power was. It was not a new idea, but it was an effective one.
The second transformation was one on a much more grand scale. The Mech Form also known as the "True Form". Partners were most actively seen in their "Human form" where they looked as the day they were born to their Operator. They appeared and in every way acted human or at least.. human physiology. Partners had the ability to transform into a large scale mecha at the request of their Operator, which the operator then was able to control from inside of a cockpit. This was seen as the Operator stepping into the control center of their brain, allowing them to give absolute suggestions which the partner then committed to. This was done by connecting the nerves of the operator to the nerves of the partner. An ideal much like that of holding the reins of a horse.
This is where you come into the story... You are in the Headquarters of the Galactic Defense Force on the planet Zeal. You are an operator, new to Project Unity. It has been one year since you joined and training has only just been completed, it is now time for your Partner to wake up and for you to greet them into this world.

A lot of the ideas I had were just thoughts in my mind, with no actual reference to anything else. Though I've spoken with you about this before Xan, so many things have been done it's rare to find a unique idea. If all of this really does sound like a single thing, I'd be very surprised since I used multiple references and a lot of original thoughts I had.
EDIT: @Nate- They can really be anything but like I said, they are "Mech", not real organic creatures. So I don't want anyone posting that they transform into a bloody dragon or anything, it would have to be cybernetic. So a cybernetic dragon, like from Dragonaut, would be entirely acceptable. Also, a giant Gundam would be acceptable.
