The Third Annual Tig Party!!!!

Since you are both so advanced in English, can you tell me an AFFECTIONATE German term for "nerdy." Obviously the English word can be used either affectionately or as a jibe, depending on the context.

I'm not getting it... what is a Tig party? 😕

A Tig party is the most awesome way of staying in contact with virtual friends who knew each other for about 8 to 9 years. It's probably nothing big for someone who just joined, but it's always been there for some of us. For years. That's a Tig Party.

(actually, it started off with a little game.)

Uh, actually, I think people would use the word "nerdy" since there's not much of a German replacement for it. Computer geeks are known as "nerds" (also in the affectionate way), nerds in school are sometimes called "Streber" (jibe).

"Streber" is rarely used in an affectionate way, but I think "Nerd" is a much more positive word in German than it is in English.

I find that "nerd" has lost a lot of it's edge.

Hello, btw.

You know, that no one answers to this praise is kind of.. depressing.

...Tig?

hello all again

Hola!

haven't been on hear for ages

I apparently forgot what it was like to enjoy idle conversation in pointless threads :< I used to post on everything, be it something I knew about or not.

Just thought about this watching a certain user create more threads on a weekly basis D:

Hello everyone! 😄

Aurora! (About 6 weeks too late. 😛)

Hi all!!

Hey 🙂 Nice to see I'm not the only one flying by then and again.

Almost Hobbit time

We should start dancing then

Hey Everyone,

So glad this thread is still going on 😄 And the dancing has survived (no matter how bad it is... LOL)

*Does the Hobbit-time dance*

International 2nd breakfast got me to pick up The Hobbit book again and start reading it. I cannot believe the bookmark that I used last time I read it was still there, a library card that expired in 2004, awesome.
