I have heard many racist jokes in my life. I've even told some, but not in a mean sort of way. More like the hilarious type. There was a group of three seniors in band with me last year. Two were black, one white. They made racist jokes about black people all the time and all three laughed at them. They made white jokes, too. Just to be fair.
I think that racism is somewhat socially acceptable in the teenage world. But adults and anyone younger than pre-teen rarely think so.

So when the activity was over the teacher said: "I bet it was easy for all of you to work together because you share the same cultural background but try to imagine working with an american and an arab at the same time. And I stupidly said: I would've slept through the activity, the american would've invaded my chair and the arabian would have put a bomb inside our little model building. While that got me roaring laughs from my classmates it also got me kickedout from class. I spent the rest of the period reading The Da Vinci Code.
