Where are you from? You never answered my question. America?

I didn't answer your question, Glad you noticed. You're smart enough to figure it out anyways , yes? Isn't it time the thread gets back to people posting their opinions on overrated bands?

In the time you typed that smart-assed reply that achieves nothing, you could have simply answered my civil question. I'd like you to do so, I'm not going to assume, that would be presumptuous.

What are you afraid of? It's an entirely relevant question, as you'll see if you answer it.

Nah, just chose not to. Especially if you are harping me to answer it. Relevant to what, your "argument"? You have none to be "relevant" in respect to. Why can't you just stop trying to defend Tool and accept that I think they are overrated? Talk about a devoted Tool fan, cheers.

I accept that you feel they are overrated, that's your call, I disagree, and that's how the world works. You are the hypocrite who expects me to just accept your opinions, but in turn request that I stop posting mine.

I'm asking you civilly to answer my question and you're being rather rude about it all. Are you American, yes or no? All you had to do was type three or two letters, and instead you are posting lines of abusive retort to escape answering a question you're supposedly not afraid to answer.

If you answer, you'll see how it's relevant, but you won't, because you are afraid, and that's fine, but at least admit it and move on, or answer it and stop being a baby. You could have avoided all this by answering my question and we'd have moved on by now.

Ha. 'we'd have moved on by now' you go where you want, I'm not coming along.

Are you American; Yes or No? It's a simple question, and you'll see how it's relevant if you answer. Last time I'll ask.

You can't actually overrate influence, can you?

Let's be logical here. You can estimate it incorrectly.

I honestly don't see how you came to that conclusion. Care to elaborate?

Oh yeah, does this mean that you meant 'musically' overrated when you created this thread? Since , from what I'm gathering it SEEMS like you are saying you can't 'overate' the ammount of influence a band had/has.

I guess he means it in the sense of we'll never truly know who is or who isn't influenced, or to what degree they're influenced etc.

It isn't, is it?

"The best band ever, no band will ever come close.", "They were the first to do everything in modern music.", "They innovated everything."...etc. The amount of false attributes goes on and on, although the first one is subjective.

Not to mention they are constantly credited with inventing the concept album, and they didn't.

-AC

I don't know where the hell you got those quotes from, but if someone says that that's clearly overrating. I didn't really said they aren't overrated, I said that it's hard to overate them because of their importance on music in general, but mostly pop. Concept albums may have been done before, but when The Beatles did it it's another thing because they were perhaps the biggest band then. It takes more for a bigger "rock" to move.
But I as an example think that The Rolling Stone has overrated them when four of the ten best albums in the history of music (according to them) are made by the beatles, including number 1 and 3.

The beatles arent overrated. They are as good as their legend says. End of story.

Oh look, it's him.

Do you like any other bands besides The Beatles?

Indeed. ...do not belong in this thread. As with anything great, there will always be people who are jealous or upset about that claim, justified and/or self proclaimed.

Beatles Rule!!! 😄

I miss your overrated and insane claims a lot.

But asking my dear friend's question:

Rolling stones, queen, the doors, the who, police, u-2, and a long etc.

Who's denying The Beatles were great? I'm not.

I'm denying that they are as great as commonly expressed, as are many people. It's not a matter of jealousy or upset.

AC, my comment was not directed at you. I was merely chiming in. Yes, I'm aware that you're tired of them, about hearing about them, etc, etc...

It didn't need to be directed at me, it's an open forum.

WHO said I was tired of them and tired of hearing about them? You, not me. It's nothing to do with that. I think they're overrated and I think you're one of those who does so.

Ok, I follow.

Also, you think I overrate them? 😕

Yes, I do.

We've had discussions regarding said band before.

-AC

Yes, but it's very difficult to NOT say that a band is great when you like them. That being said, I know they are the MOST liked band in the history of pop/rock, perhaps still today even. Now, does that make them the greatest band ever? Most certainly not. But it does lend some credence to that the more people you capture as fans, the more you've hit their hot spot for musical preference. I know, it's all semantics. But, back to the point, and all bias aside, they have some points to back themselves up as the greatest band ever. If that's the case, it cannot be that they're overrated.

Overliked maybe?
