Duty to Commonwealth or the United States?

Hypothetically (forgetting NATO and things) say there was a war between Canada and the US who would Great Britain side with? Its old allies or its old Empire?

I would presume that GB would side with Canada as our Queen is their Queen but what would happen to America if there was a war would they win or lose?

Britain would side with whichever state was in the right. For example, if Canada was the agressor, Britain would fight against it.
However, I still belive that both the US and Canada should still be run and goverened by Great Britain. 🙄

I do too.hehe

But would Britain attack Canada.....that would be like civil war attacking the Queens country she would surly order Parliament to side with the Canadians.

No the other Twenty Wars you helped the Agressors......yes of course Iraq......

And I don't think the Queen could order Parlaent to do that....by Written Law yes, (I guess) but she can't by Common Law (isn't that what you call the rules that worked all the time....)

[edit] By the way I can't belief I Misspelled Aggressor twice.....it's been a Bad Day (Please don't take a Picture)

Hmm... Canada's link with Britain now is, really, a mere formality. (sadly)- so I think that this sort of thing would be overlooked. It really is a shame that the British Empire is in the past, don't you agree?

Not really....I think everyone should have the Right to govern themselves......if they want to be Part they can join an Organization.....or they can Fuse their countries....

Oh defiantly but I don't see Britain going to war with a country of the commonwealth over the US.

I love Great Britain, one of my favorite countries.......just.....I don't think the Empire is such a great thing....

there would be no war between the U.S. and Canada. If anything, a minor scirmish. The fighting would be over before ships and planes from Great Britain could even reach Canada..........they'd arrive to see American flags flying high.

as for a war between Great Britain and the U.S.? will never happen....even less likely than with Canada. If it did........I would have to pick America to be the victor and it has nothing to do with my living here. What makes a powerful country?.....a powerful military. What makes a powerful military?......a large number of trained grunts. America has the ultimate pool to pull our military forces from. Political and racial strife in this country has resulted in millions of poor/disenchanted youths with nothing better for them to do after high school than to join the military and become a trained killer. For them it's either that or work at McDonalds.

Do you remember a certain discussion on the EU?

"What is so special about your country anyway??!"

😕

Why do you not see the Empire as such a great thing? You said yourself that you want a United world one day, so why not use the British Empire as a means to do so?

If America went to war with GB it would be a war with the Commonwealth and the European Union,America couldnt win.

Because the British Empire was a preferential trading bloc that happily ignored any human cost involved in making money in connivance with local landowners.

NOT a blueprint for world order, and thoroughly impossible to maintain in a modern world.

the Empire was never a united place.

Still, if he wants the world as one whole unit... Why not endorse the British for trying?

There British Empire wasn't about unifying the world it was about money and conquest.

Why not endorse Hitler for trying, by that logic.

He wants a modern conception of a global unit.
