Most definitely!

Avenged Sevenfold - The Wicked End

It's 7 minutes long and somehow manages to squeeze in a full choir and orchestra and blends it flawlessly!

The Truth Beneath the Rose-Within Temptation

'Three Days' - Jane's Addiction. Unbelieveable.

If this thread is still going...

'The End' by the Doors. I can't think of any song that fits 'epic' any better, really.

7 words by the deftones...just insane. defies what you think is real

Modest Mouse - Ocean Breathes Salty.
Whenever I listen to that song, I get a funny feeling inside me.
Something sad and angry. Makes me want to punch somebody. Especially at 2:48 mark.

"Hold ya head" by Tupac. NOT "Keep Your Head Up", No. Track 11 on Killuminati: The seven Day Theory album, "Hold Ya Head," not one single cuss word I might add, also to those who know that "Me And My Girlfriend" is about all the pistols he ever owned, and not his girlfriend, (Jay-Z is so pathetic; he did a remake of that song and it was about having a girlfriend! For the love of God all other rappers suck so bad compared to Pac) you know that song is epic as well. Rap today is the biggest clown joke the earth has seen since the early 80's.

I have 2 songs in mind currently.

Requiem for a Dream theme, and Death is the Road to Awe.

Lux Aterna

'Each Following Day' by The Vibe

I'm surprised no one has mentioned 30 seconds to mars or sytem of a down. I will admit they can't stack up to the likes of what most of you have been listing but you can't deny that both bands have an epic style the touches the soul in one way or another.

and yeh want to get into the discussion of classic rock such as stairway then i'm gona have to say the Free Bird by Lynard Skynard will beat anything and everything......Stairway was the godfather of classic rock Ballads i will agree but it has been so overplayed throughout its time so if i were to be given a choice i'd go with free bird

and yeh can't mess with Queen....epic isn't even the right word i'd use Godly.

I'll take Atmosphere over Tupac any day.

Iron Man or War Pigs
cant decide between the two mhmm

I'd between them go for "War Pigs" for its truely epic length plus the more complicated arrangement and variety of sections... Its like a more pissed off "Stairway"...

"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen...?
"Zombie Eaters" by FNM....?
"Dazed and Confused" or "Babe Im gonna leave you" by Led Zep...?
"The Unforgiven" by Metallica..?
"Civil War" by G'n'R...?
"Telegraph Road" by Dire Straits...?
The afformentioned "War Pigs" by Sabbath...?
"Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd..?

Well more epic them all (certainly in length) would have to be Delivirum Cordia by Fantomas. Its a nightmarishly epic whole CD in length and the band played it live too.

If epic is what your looking for...I highly suggest this:

Requiem For a Dream.

No idea who it is by, but it is ridiculous, I was walking down my street listening to it, and it made the cars go by seem like some intense movie scene.

Clint Mansell.

Requiem for a Dream is by Clint Mansell.
