What are you doing to help out the victims of hurricane katrina??

I just think that if posters are gonna take the steps to make assumptions about what I mean, they should either ask first or say nothing. Either way, I said you could PM me. The offer is there.

Wouldn't exactly go so far as to call Deano handicapped, but I agree he's quite idiotic with his posts here. I dunno why though, he's not bad of a guy.

im a genius ac, you above anyone should know that..

Good god! We all have issues. But the two of you tearing on Deano isn't any more or less offensive than anything either of you have or haven't said about the people who were effected by the hurricane. Sure he posts total shit, but that's just Deano...AC, you are an ass...I thought you enjoyed people thinking so. I'm an ass, everyone knows that. Kharma, you and PVS think so much alike, that I have a hard time telling the two of you apart at times. We all have our roles to fill, because we are all individuals.

total shit? oh the irony.. your opinion isnt worthy since you have no idea on whats going on as you do very little research.

Deano made 5 posts in a row and they all said nothing, just like his 1000 or so previous posts.

Let's get back on topic or close the thread.

Come on man. I've been one of the few people here who has defended you...and your right to your opinion. Don't jump on me now.

Rightee-O...

I went to Sears today to get my watch fixed and donated 2 dollars to the relief fund. It's not much but it's really all I can spare, and if every American did it, we might be getting somewhere. For some cosmic reason, when the clerk rang up my 2 dollar donation, I hit the 'Sears Shopper Jackpot'. 5 whole dollars to spend in any Sears store.

"See" said the clerk "You do something nice for someone and something nice happens to you."

So I left to go to my job interview... then I got flat from a nail in my tire and my seatbelt broke... *sigh*

I like Jews.

There, that make everyone happy?

Define "what you can".

Unless you are living on 'hand-to-mouth' basis, I think most people could contribute something, no matter how small. Personally, I feel people should help, but if they don't want to that is their choice. The real problem is the attiude of some people who seem to think that because it has occured in the US, then help is not needed; as anyone can see from the 'response' of the US government, this is not the case. However, castigating someone for doing something - no matter how insignificant - is a type of behavior that no-one should condone or tolerate. Wars can divide nations, but extreme natural disasters should consolidate public opinions.

I am not riding a neigh-neigh, but rather I am just genuinely shocked and appalled by what is going on over there.

I don't believe for a second that help is NOT needed, at all. I said it's tragic and I feel for those involved.

It's just not my responsibility to be that help.

It's tragic, very. I feel for all involved, but it's not my problem. Just like if it were me, it wouldn't be your problem.

This sorta situation really separates those who take upon themselves huge moral obligations, and those who don't. We're not wrong for not doing anything just because you go out of your way to do SOMETHING.

AC, i know you'll deny this 100%, but the truth stands obvious.

whenever the topic of helping others shows up, you're ever so quick to post and say "not my problem". your previous explanation was that you only said that because you were challenged, so its not like you're saying that you're proud to be self centered and thats how everone should be. i accepted that then, since that seemed to be the situation. if thats how you feel, then fine.

but here you are, as in other threads, preaching your philosophy with obvious pride and also jabbing at those who feel they should do something, in your own special way. i find that disturbing 😬

I knew it was just a matter of time before the one other person who would pick out my posts would come in, but here we go:

Right on, so we respect that what I choose to do, or not do in this case, is my deal? Great.

The pride is your own doing, I'm just speaking my mind.

My own special way? Aka in humour but not willing to be accepted as humour by you and Kharmadog, although I explained it to him and he seemed to accept that I said what I did (about Captain Planet, still not sure why I had to explain it was humour) in humour.

I'm not jabbing at anyone (in any intended offensive way) or preaching anything. I'm speaking how I feel and I've said that if people feel other ways, fine by me. Absolutely.

I speak for nobody but myself and nobody speaks for me but me. Glad we could have this little chat.

Sorry you find it disturbing, but I find lots of things disturbing. Like why I'm the only person who gets picked out in this thread for making a random, no-harm-intended comment, speaking for myself only.

Either way, I hope this cleared things up. I'm speaking for no one, preaching to no one, trying to offend no one.

-AC

What are you doing to help victims of probably many problems that are happening throught the world, and that summed up could be worse than just a hurricane. When earthquakes happen in Japan we don´t even know about.

Actually, I thought you were just being a condescending smartass. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

That seems to happen alot. Guess it has nothing to do with you, must be everyone else's problem.

Well yes it is.

If people are gonna make the assumption instead of asking what I mean so that it can be resolved, people choose the former. That's not my deal. But then I'm logical. If you say something I don't get, I'll ask what it means.

No worries about before, by the way.

AC-- 'I'm quite glad that people were saying, straight away, "Nothing."'

why are you glad that others wont help?
i thought it was just a personal preference, not an attitude which you would prefer for others to have.

thats where the idea of "pride" comes from.
you can backpedal and deny all you wish, but i didnt pull that quote out of my ass.

whatever dude, it never happened. 🙄

Nothing really.

First off, what did I tell you about assumptions?

I'm not glad they won't help, that's not what I mean. I meant I'm glad that people aren't ashamed to say "I'm doing nothing." Instead of being pressured into thinking they have to either A) Say they have or B) ACTUALLY do it. You didn't pull the quote out of your ass, just completely misunderstood what I meant only to continue and once again base your entire views of my views, on it.

So you've once again cut your nose off to spite your face. This could all be solved if you actually asked what I meant.

-AC

So basically you are saying that you are not communicating your thoughts clearly?

O.K. then. 'nuff said.

How tasteless to turn this thread into a finger pointing and blaming game. These little daycare behavior will be dealt soon enough.

Scythe if you wish to open a new thread with the same topic feel free to do it.
