Jedi can resisit poison. Those canisters won't work. Even a padawan(Obi-wan) has shown the ability to resist poison gas.
More than 50 can attack Ragnos at a time. The temple wall's won't stand for long in this battle. Once they fall, which won't take to long, Ragnos will be open to attack from several thousand Jedi at the same time.

There are both HK and IG. It was changed.
Alright, what makes you think Ragnos and the IG bringing the house down is gonna leave more than a handful of unharmed, battle ready reasonable foes for a Sith lord who could probably beat off and fight Sidious at the same time while holding a toothpick? I mean, yes, that's extreme, okay... but what you're saying is ridiculous. You're -searching- for reasons for Ragnos to lose.
@ atlant: In TMP when the room was flooded with poison gas.
@ Janus: I am not trying to say Ragnos is weak. Infact, I did a ton to support him in different threads. Are you saying that Ragnos is a hundred times more powerful than Revan? This is the first time I've ever considered this of you, but you have become a Ragnos fanboy. Maybe a bigger fanboy for Ragnos than ER is for Revan.
Glentract, there's no way even a 100 Jedi would get to him. No way in hell. First off, not every room in the Jedi Temple as as large as the chamber in Moria, and second off, he has 70 people raining blaster fire. All of the Jedi would be attempting to block the blasters. All Ragnos would have to do is lightning them, drain them, throw them around, etc.
In the unlikely event that a jedi DOES get to Ragnos, he whips out that sword and makes them regret every being born; there is not a single jedi there that would stand up to Ragnos for even a significant amount of time. If you thought Anakin took out Cin quickly in the novelization, that's nothing.
As for Ragnos not attacking the Jedi, he knew about the Jedi, he was afraid of the Jedi because he felt the Sith would fall apart on him. He was right. You seem to forget that even during his reign, the Sith had people attack him, they had people attack each other -- Ragnos wanted this because it would at least preserve is empire.
Sadow himself was kicking Republic ass, Ragnos likely could have done it too, but you'll see power hungry Sith try to take advantage of his absence, guaranteed -- it's not a question of influence, it's a question of opportunity.
And you seem to forget, it's not the same Jedi Order, the Jedi Order then was far larger and deadlier than the Jedi Order of the PT. And as much as the Sith feared the Jedi, the Jedi feared the Sith, Marka Ragnos' passing was felt by Odan-Urr many planets away.
You're just missing the point, and making every effort to illogically prove while Ragnos wouldn't be able to do it.
atlant, these are IG-88's weapons.
flamethrower-possibly effective
blaster rifle-not going to work
sonic stunner-jedi are able to resist being stunned. might work against younglings, but they wouldn't do much anyway.
paralisys cord-leaves the Jedi connected to IG. IG wants to be as far from the Jedi as possible. not a good weapon.
poison gas canisters-Jedi are resistant to poison
atlant80, I use invisible mode because I don't like people knowing when I come and go, because I usually get bombarded with PMs when I'm on, and they take time to read and reply to. As it is, I'm lucky if I can keep up with the new posts on any given day.
Second, Glentract, you pulled a figure out of your ass. I suggest you stuff it back in. Never once did I mentioned a number and Ragnos in reference to another's power. Don't put words in my mouth.
Third, the very idea that no one has an exact limitation on Ragnos' powers (but we do know they were enough to maintain his rule, despite having every major power wanting Sith on the planet wanting his balls for cufflinks) he's either (at a horribly conservative guess) right above Sadow's power or somewhere beyond what we can only imagine. With a range of power like that, he could conceivably be a threat to each and every person in the jedi temple. Especially when you take the situation into consideration, as I do and few others seldom do: the jedi, peaceful guardians of the Republic, are sitting at home ona quiet night, when all of a sudden assassin droids and a Sith lord who commanded the allegiance of two of the most powerful Sith ever (one who was potent enough to do all sorts of fabulous things for sure) along with eighteen others of perhaps slightly lesser standing... I mean, what does it take to see that this is a battle where the odds are against the jedi. Number does not mean the jedi are superior- the jedi had a considerable number of fighters in Geonosis, against weak, mindless droids, and they died in droves. Why? Jedi do not work well as a fighting force. They are all essentially one man or two man groups, no more. Despite being good aligned and preaching harmony, the jedi do not exhibit tactical soundness nor do they show any real understanding of such total death and carnage. Watch AOTC again. Mace Windu, second in the order, totally fekked up when he spread his jedi (Who got there undetected) out so they could get surrounded in turn by droids and shot to pieces. Mace himself manages to sneak up on Dooku (And does it alone, lord only knows why) and talks shit, but doesn't kill the Sith lord. Point being, the jedi of the PT era are quite ineffective when it comes to all out combat like this. Why do you think the Clone Wars killed so many? And more fell to Clone troopers?
Meanwhile, Marka Ragnos achieved power by a series of campaigns against his adversaries and by chopping off the head of the previous Dark lord of the Sith (Whom no one had contested until Ragnos). The fact that he allowed Simus to exist as a mere head is a testamont to the confidence he had of the former sith lord being a nonthreat. Lastly, Maraka Ragnos continued to make himself the target of aggression so the Sith would remain isolated and not seek to expand (for he felt it was not a right move, and he was damn right). He survived his enemies, and even held their utmost respect and fear after he was dead.
Seriously, wtf?
I like Obi-Wan and Yoda and Mace and even Luminara for their personality and dynamics. Marka Ragnos is not my favorite character nor even my favorite Sith of all time. But everything he has in his corner -demands- consideration and respect. You aree undercutting him seriously, and I am responding. This thread is imbalanced. Period.
