Halo: Darkness Ascendant

As the major attack was going on a terrible sound was heard.. the sound of banshees... Over the tree top about 6 came, a marine with a rocket had a lock on but before he could fire a fuelrod hit, leaving floating clothes and a puff of red smoke.

The first three make a pass over the top, killing another two marines and injuring another.. Inside the garage the lights flicker.. davaran calls to two marines who run with him over to the third vehicle in the garage (theres about 6 that I know of, the two tigers, couple warthogs and a couple scorpion tanks..) The thing they were running to was davarans answer to dropships and banshees, a scorpion tank with a bigger turret chassis, instead of the cannon and mg, six LAAG machine guns (like the ones in the metropolis level, mounted mg's) The guns were tied together into one main firing mechanism.. surrounded by a thinly armored shell the vehicle slowly exits the facility.. seconds pass before a massive barrage of fire enters the sky, a banshee barrel rolls left, the gunner tracks them.. the banshee explodes violently then the gunner moves to the right, a banshee makes a run, its regular fire bouncing off the armor plates, he hits it multiple times with the combo of plasma and projectile.. After two more banshees are destroyed the fifth makes a run putting a lucky plasma shot into a slit.. the gunner falls dead, davaran, behind him spotting grabs the gun control and begins firing at the two remaining banshees.... the driver punches the gas and moves to a better position, the last banshee comes in quick from behind with its boosters.. davaran swings the turret and kills the banshee just before it was in range for a fuel rod, the second however. moves in too quick from the other side, the turret cant turn in time and a fuel rod hits the front plating, the marine had it in reverse from the earlier move, it begins to slowly move backwards with the scortched marine body above it, davaran quickly kills the last banshee and yells to stop the tank, after a few seconds he looks down to see the dead marine, on the other side.. a forested area where he sees atleast 12 elites.. he makes a run for the gun and opens fire but they are too far away.. and his ammo is too low to waste on hard shots.. but if he gets too close, they will out menuever..

SHXZALOR

“Grunts, move onto the roof, your arcing fuel rod guns can be used in an artillery like fashion to bomb enemy positions, Elites, go with them and spot and provide suppressive fire on enemy entrenchments. I shall deal with these with my own way.” He led them up onto the roof, soon the grunts had started bombing enemy positions, Shxzalor walked to the edge, “Here I come brothers.” He leaped of the edge, his sword flashed to life at the same time, as he started to fall he dove the sword into the wall of the human building, slowing his descent, and raking a thin cut through the metal. He pushed off at about eight feet and landed heavily, but gracefully.

Ten

Ten grabbed his pistol which he still had, he bashed the door down and shot at enemies to keep them down, "Come or stay Garrison.” He shouted and bolted back for the building with all the fuel rod guns and other explosive weapons.

Garrison shot at the Covies behind them and ran right behind TEN. He threw a plasma grenade right between the eyes of a grunt. he screamed

"AAHHH! GET IT OFF ME!"

he ran right up to an elite, who was killed by the following blast

[]I always though it was funny when you threw a grenade on a grunt and he ran away and after a few seconds there was a......BOOM![]

Huon regained some conscious he could see blurry images around him and he heard gunfire and plasma fire.He attempted to get up but he fell to the ground.The burn he sustained was still very hot.He used all the energy he could to get in a defensive position and then he layed against the wall and waited for the medic to come.

[uh Darvan got these other special tanks and warhogs from the garage? umm i thought i said in an earlier post that when i enter the garage the first time on my scouting that all the vehicles were destroied, so all i knew we had was ur prototype tank and a covie dropship, but i guess, no point in arguing now, especially when you drove out into the rubble outpost that has covies around everycorner, and we're just holding our own on the roof, but hey if u wanna be down there with Shxzalor, be my guest, and 6 LAAGs on one tank? wtf sry but it seems this outpost should have a ome special forerunner ship lying around that we just happen to have made operable the way we got secret stuff out the censored2..... but hey LF is the GM so none of this really means anything sry to waste ur time reading it]

Nuron took down four of the Elites chasing after Darvan before they even had their plasma rifles ready, "Darvan!!! TURN LEFT SHXZALOR WILL COVER YOU!!!" Nuron yelled down, "This doesn't seem good guys... I haven't heard any explosions from the lift yet.." Nuron said to a couple of marines, "What?! How would you be able to here it? I mean all the way down here?!" one replied as he laid down covering fire for the ally below, "Trust I know when some blows up, heck if your lucky you'll here it too.." Nuron went over to the weapons stash, "HOW ARE WE DOING MEN?" he asked "These fuel rod canons seem to be helping hold back the main forces sir." answer the nearest marine, Nuron threw a launcher over his shoulders, "Where's our weak point....." Nuron said as he load the launcher...

Well this "garage" was where I started, I started on the planet before you guys arrived.., I had alot of spare chassis and such due to expiraments earlier on.

and what is wrong with 6 LAAG's on one tank, read about the ww2 Wierbelwind, it had 4 50cals if memory serves.. maybe bigger guns than that..

Nuron contuined to cover Shxzalor as he charged the enemy elites.

[]You do realize a LAAG is the machinegun turret on the back of the warthog.So to put 6 of them on one tank that means they would be supremely unprotected and that it would be hard to fight.[]

I'm not talking about the entire turret, just the gun off of one, just the three barrels and the firing mechanism.. it can be surrounded by cast plating, same thing a tank turret is... a big gun surrounded by armor plating

((He's right, the turret on the hog is more than just a turret, it has a stand for someone to stand in as well as ...restraints or w/e to hold people from getting thrown of.))

Ten dashed into the room and grabbed two more fuel rod guns as well as a few plasma grenades, "Garrison! I am going to drop a grenade, when it goes off this structure is going up in flames, it's full of explosives and related weaponry."

[]Also you do realize that also the turret is about o......4-5 ft high and maybe 2 or so feet long in we'll say a square shape.So lets see.....If we add sufficient firing movment and a good amount of ammo ur tank has to be around 10 ft long.Also it could be any hieght.But the tank already woulld be like 3 ft plus......4.5 ft....that equals....=7.5 or higher feet high.So it wouldnt be a tactical advantage.ill post pictures in a min of why.

Well actually it'd be at the least like 12 ft long.Also if u add theplating so it'd be like a moving bunker then the firing positions would really suck.And one well placed grenade and basically......Everyones dead.Not a good choice.....Also it'd take lets see....8 men to pilot it.So it might not be such a good idea.So it'd mow down infantry pretty quickly but if there was a wraith.....lets not go too far on that idea.

Also for it to work you'd need to put in the stands as the stands arent detachable.The entire thing is what you woluld need!

[Sigh and all I was trying to prove was that I found the vehicles destroied in the garage when I first got to the outpost, therefore I didn't understand how we had this spare new tank, that w/o turrets to move the guns that could take down the banshees, but anyway I thought u started out in the forest Darvan, cause the whole outpost population was exicuted, therefore I don't think they would have missed u hiding in the garage, not to mention a nice heavy Anti-air tank, which they left intact while the rest of the vehicles are in shambles besides the ones we brought. BUT LF is apperantly argueing on ur side so alas! The tanks are liable, HIP HIP HORAY!]

Nuron jumped down into the streets, and began taking out the jackels and grunts that were heading towards Darvan, "Leave the Tank! Run for the building!!!" Nuron said as he straifed past each building taking out one or two more grunts or jackels everytime, "Darvan either die, or listen to me!" Nuron yelled as he made his way to the tank.

[]i wouldnt go into th tank yet since well.....were still sorta discussing the possibility of a tank with 6 warthog machine guns things.Also because its unprotected well.....a well placed grenade takes out all the gunners.

[im not going into the tank! Im gettting Darvan out of it before alot of elites and other covies form every side over whelmn the tank!!! forget logistics, this things is big, obviously, this this is unrealistic, purhaps, the thing is a prototype and a well placed grenade would blow her to smitherins, YES, FinalSepharim makes post condradicting earlier post, IVE SEEN WORST, so Huon I would sujest we stop with the logistics of it and let the Thread prosper in harmony, be it we give a few limits]

"Darvan did you HEAR ME, forget the tank, those elite will make it into cheese!" Nuron continued yelling pointlessly as he was still to far away to do anything, "Shxzalor! Where are you?" Nuron looked around curiously after each shot he took.

Ok, for one, you dont take support tanks up against enemy ground tanks, that is why it was called an ANTI-AIR tank, they were starting to possibly devise something to help protect human cities from the banshee-phantom threat, look at metropolis... there were tons of banshees and phantoms.. And its only a prototype.. that is why theres no top cover.. all my stuff is prototypes because no one was expecting an attack out this far since obviously earth wasn't safe anymore.. and where the hell do you get 8 pilots, a current tank now has 4.. 1 driver, 1 gunner, 1 loader, one commander.. in halo, the scorpion tank which is even better in someways than most MBT's of our time.. only has one.. why does my tank need 8? that's just stupid.. it only needed 3... a driver.. a gunner... and a spotter.. and that is exactly what it had and will continue to have, no more arguments because you are wrong. and obviously its big, but all it is.. is a scorpion tank with instead of the big gun and lmg on the turret, a more larger surfacearea turret was made, and they decided to put some chainguns on it for countering air AND OBVIOUSLY YOU DONT GET ON BUNGIE FOR THE ORIGINAL DESIGN FOR THE TURRET, NO ROOM FOR AMMO THERE EITHER EH? grrr.. Like I said, its not a new idea read about the german WIRBELWIND in ww2.. and where the hell do I post contradictions.. I have only went along with my own things.. you guys landed on a planet where I have been before you.. I was in a bunker of sorts with a whole mess of vehicles.. are you guys sure you would have even found me yet then? because it was mildly obvious in my first posts that my building wasn't entirely empty.)

I had to come through the forest, you guys landed right when I said they were doing their movement trials, plus they were trying to contact the town but weren't getting a response. I guess we both kindof went our different ways on how the story looked, I suppose you guys would have found the garage I've been at, but its somewhat a secret installation, mostly underground, kindof half inside of a hill more or less.. but who cares, I dont have much left anyway, just two tanks now.. and what ever warthogs are left and ofcourse, what ever your ships brought with you.)

Davaran gets up, looking around he sees the one mount that looks down the barrels of the 6 guns sticking out from the plating, he presses the foot pedal that turns the turret left until he sees the forest..after seeing they were watching intently he grabs a shell laying next to him and lodges it in the firing mechanism, the six barrels lay down a wave of fire in thier direction. obviously infront of him is many elites, waiting for their chance to pounce, davaran crawls the few feet back to the crates where ammo was stored, he grabs a few shells and empties the powder out into a line, "My last match, no cigar." he lights the quick made fuse then with his last energy pulls himself over the back of the turret and falls onto the back engine grates, he then rolls off of those onto the ground.. he sits and watches as the tank whilst firing slowly moves into the forest where he sees the elites storm the tank through the side and rear, seconds later the tanks magazine explodes sending elites in all directions. Davaran lets off a smile before he passes out.
