I just made my "official" predictions for the tourney. Can't reveal them now, but I'll post them later to see how many are right.
I had some fun with Sentry's name too. I had Iron Eagle originally, but he changed his amalgam...I think he gave me a new name, but I forget (and I get so many Pms I really don't feel like looking for it). So (for now at least) he has a new name.
And to lay to rest any rumors...there won't be a special "bonus" round like Evangel had for the last tourney. Sure, it was fun, but with 16 it doesn't fit as well. If you lose, you're out.
Sure, we can have a battle for 3rd/4th place. And possibly a round-1-losers battle. After that, though, I imagine interest will wane, both from voters and participants, because playing for spots 5-16 isn't as dramtic as playing for spots 1-4. You also run into the tourney becoming excessively long if you do all that.
But we would only have one battle the final week anyway...so I'll just add in the 3-4 battle and the tourney will last the same amount of time. Or maybe we can lengthen it a week or so...I'll give it some thought, but a 10+ person battle royale just wouldn't work well, so I can guarantee that we won't have anything like that.
Maybe I'll just surprise everyone...we'll have to see. But nobody will be able to come back from the dead to win the thing. A bit more pride, perhaps, and the thrill of battle (depending on what happens), but once you lose the title is forever lost to you.
