Darth Vader versus Darth Tyranus

Of course not, but his overall relative greatness when taking into account the entire history of the Republic is questionable, which is what Alex was referring to with the word "legendary."

Who the hell is "Alex"? I can only think of my SD.net account, in which case, I'm flattered by the stalking.

Anyways, Dooku's greatness is unquestionable. Your desire to take one section of the quote out of context doesn't change it. 😉

Alex is the guy who has a thing for middle aged men that wear horn rimmed glasses and chooses shitty passwords. As for taking the quote out of context, that's ridiculous.

It starts off with "This is Dooku," goes on to describe him, and then goes on to say "This is the public story." The identical wording makes it pretty clear that both are referring to the same thing. If you wish to claim that the "This is the public story" doesn't refer to the entire passage following the "This is Dooku," then prove it, as you made the original claim.

Can't say that I'm familiar with him. Though I'm sure he's particularly fond of your rather disturbing obsession with him; though I'm also sure that he's likely used to it. 😉

The passage is dictated by the omniscient narrator. The concluding sentences you emphasized do not disprove or contradict the claims mentioned above. In fact, I could just as easily claim that those emphasized sentences refer only to the paragraph above.

You lose again, sport. 😉

21st now?

Now that you mention it, that does seem to be your total number of banned accounts.

This is a Darth Sexy level rebuttal at best.

The passage is dictated by the omniscient narrator.

The Omniscient Narrator is indirectly voicing "the people" as is clear by the "This is the public story... The truth is more complicated."

Just because it's coming from the omniscient narrator, it doesn't mean that it's directly voicing all knowing fact. Understand the concept of indirect narration and get back to me.

22nd, now?

Your baiting is kind've repetitive, don't you think? I mean, seriously, Nebaris. You lecture others on not having a "tidbit of wit!!1oneone!!1!" and you make these remarks that make us established witty individual cringe; it's rather like seeing one of those cuts from American idol, an amateur singer butchering a classic by attempting to sing it.

It's not annoying per se. It's just disheartening. Especially when you clearly demonstrate an admirable intellect; you just prefer to posture like you're some sort of E-Hotshot. It's not gonna happen, man. Might as well give up, sport. 😉

As to your argument, I made no claim. I simply posted an obvious truth born from G-canon material, as directed by the omniscient narrator. You disagree? You disprove it. Otherwise, I'm content (as are the rest of us) to acknowledge Dooku's brilliance in swordplay and let you be that one silent voice in a roaring crowd. 😉

No, really, I've lost count.

22nd, right?

I mean, seriously, Nebaris. You lecture others on not having a "tidbit of wit!!1oneone!!1!"

I believe my exact words were "an tidbit of wit," you unwitty, non witty, witless, blubbering vagina.

and you make these remarks that make us established witty individual cringe;

I'll be honest Gideon, you are somewhat witty, but in kind of a strange way. I mean, your string comment for instance. Witty, to be sure, but, what is that even insulting? My ability to commit to another in a relationship? My emotional armour, and the way I don't let anybody in. Lol, that's kind of a strange thing to insult someone about on an internet forum. It's what makes us normal people cringe.

it's rather like seeing one of those cuts from American idol, an amateur singer butchering a classic by attempting to sing it.

Don't even be trying to diss on the masterclass talent of American Idol. Do it again and the gloves come off.

Refer to urban dictionary. Nebaris is the definition of E-Hotshot.

As to your argument, I made no claim.

Gideon: I think it'd be a bit of a stretch to say that Vader would "pwn" someone of Dooku's legendary caliber.

That's what we English speaking people refer to as a claim. You then went on to make it clear that it was the RotS novelisation quotes that you were referring to (as was obvious).

I simply posted an obvious truth born from G-canon material, as directed by the omniscient narrator.

Same G-Canon material had Anakin thinking that he was more powerful than anyone on the Council. I guess, going by your logic -- that it exists in G-Canon material (bullshit, by the way) and directed by the Omniscient Narrator -- it means that Anakin is factually more powerful than anyone on the Jedi Council. Oh wait,m all that's canon would be that Anakin thought so, at the time, just like all that's canon here is that the public thought of Dooku in such a way.

You disagree? You disprove it.

Burden of proof fallacy.

Otherwise, I'm content (as are the rest of us) to acknowledge Dooku's brilliance in swordplay and let you be that one silent voice in a roaring crowd.

Firstly, his greatness and power status as a Jedi isn't specifically referring to his ability as a swordsman. Secondly, you might as well just commit an Appeal to Majority Fallacy with that line of thought. Guess what sport, popular concensus means jack when you have a level of intellect that KMC does.

Man, Noobaris receiving the pwnage again. What else is new?

Says the one who has been banned from KMC over 20 times and keeps coming back.

Reported.

This is why I REX and Ushgarak just need to make me a moderator. I could wield "unlimited power!"

This is also an excellent example of why I always win with Nebaris. Since he doesn't manage to nail any key points at all, the authorities eventually shut him up anyways.

Yes, I said Bastila might beat vader, might means I'm not sure there's a chance, and that was over a year ago, like 3 years ago everybody thought that Kun could beat Yoda and Mace 2 on 1 but do they still? Things change, you know, just because I overestimated Bastila then doesn't mean that I am anti-Vader.

Note: In the same thread you stated that Kun > Vader only because of "teh amulet blasts". Do you still think that?

No i don't. Oh and don't take the insults in the other thread to heart, i was angry that day and apologise for venting it on you.

But the thing is try not to underestimate vader too much.

Vaders suit has to have an in-cooling system or whatever, but even with that blinking air-conditioner black suit thingummy its bye bye vader.

Thanks for bumping a DEAD thread pal.

I just put that in my sig lol thats the best thing ive heard all week.

anyway, what you people are failing to see is that Vader is the SAME PERSON as anakin, and anakin fried dooku. Vader is more experienced then he used to be, and more practiced in the force. while He might be slower, but that is because they made the vader movies before they had coreography and cgi. He defenitely has it in him to win dooku again.

No, it's not necessarily because of what you say. Hasn't it ocurred to you that maybe he was slower because half his body was burned and he had to use robotic body parts? I'd say this makes you a lot slower than you were supposed to be.

Actually, now that I think of it, Vader seemed fast enough in TRODV.
