Because I watched the policies of Norman Tebbit as home Sec with great interest, Thatcher gave people the freedom of Greed and removed any safety net, whilst at the same time fostering ignorance and devaluing education. She set the weak up to fail and produced a giant under class. The damage wrought by Thatcher is only now truly obvious.

Your perception of 'greed' means that people had the right to CHOOSE how to spend their money and to ALLOW them to endevour for personal prosperity.. That isn't greed... that's ambition- and that is healthy in a society- it gives people incentives to improve in an economical sense. Which, in turn improves standards of living for all- whether you are an entrepreneur or somebody working for him/her. This is how the creation of wealth occurs.

Well, the working class before Thatcher had a strong communal drive. During her reign as overlord, the country turned in on itself, losing that sense of community. She's possibly single handedly responsible for all chav culture of the modern age, who exhibit the most amount of ignorance and stupidity of all time.

How was the working class in the pre-Thatcher years striving for personal economic prosperity?! It was a welfare state- people were leeching off the government- it was oversized and sucking people's drive by means of taxes. Thatcher created this drive.
'Chav' culture is due to lack if decent discipline in schools and at home.
