I agree, I don't think god would expect people to to be in pain..Expecially for His sake...I wouldn't ask that of another...And He is greater than me, so why would He?

If you know anything about the bible then you know jesus died for the sins of humaninty.At the same time it is also are part to be judged by how we lived.
According to christianity jesus did the easy part.It's just up to us to accept him as the only way to God.

Now the romans might have just made a lot of it up,but i also remember reading (either in jesus mysteries or jesus and the lost goddess),once christian saying that others should seek out a death just as christ did.

Was that really so bad? I would sacrifice myself too for all the people in the world if I would be alive after three days. I mean, yeah it was painful and he died, but still...
