The genealogy only disproves the claim that Matthew and Luke contradict. And your contention fins has nothing to do with it.

Jesus may not be PHYSICALLY descended from the bloodline of Joseph - because He was born through HOLY SPIRIT - but He was still the fulfillment of God's PROMISE to be the Son of God which will come from the descendants of David.

Again, not literally by BLOOD... but by God's PROMISE.

it has everything to do with it, Joseph and Jesus didnt genealogically share the same bloodline, meaning the fullfilment has great flaws in it. Biggest flaw it aint correct, so the so called self proclaimed son of god was not a true genealogically descendant of David

The issue here is whether Matthew and Luke contradict each other or not regarding the FATHER/s of JOSEPH as raised by mr.smiley.

Now, your contention of saying that Jesus do not share from the bloodline of David, then that is totally a different topic. Whatever, fins, I respect your notions.

Now, for mr.smiley: Did Matthew and Luke still contradict regarding the parents of Joseph?

Did Matthew and Luke still contradict regarding the parents of Joseph?
yes, they did....the local priest during my confirmation ment that Luke talked abuot Mary`s line

I personally think jesus will be descended from joseph.... because i have huge problems understandin or believing a virgin birth....

Virgin birth could of meant "Young Women" From what I've heard, Mary was 14.

14, no wonder Joseph didnt wan to take credit for it then.......... childbait

Yeah, I can just picture all these old men with...with.. tender little flowers...UUUgh. Old wrinkly men and little flowers.....crybaby

Hey, look we're both wearing black and purple...

when it comes to the virgin birth, that also echoes stories that predate the christian era.
Pythagoras was said to be the son of apollo and a mortal woman called
parthenis, whose name derives from the word parthenos, meaning virgin.

In other traditions other sons of god are born to virgins.
asia minor, the mother of attis is the virgin cybele.
In syria, adonis' virgin mother is called myrrh.
In alexandria, aion is born to the virgin kore.
In greece, dionysus is born to the virgin semele who is impregnated by one of zeus' lightning bolts

This is where the term "parthenogenesis" meaning "virgin birth" comes from. 😉

And that question was addressed to mr.smiley... not for you to answer, fins.

luke continues the genealogy past David all the way back through the Patriarchs to Adam and eventually God himself. Both gospels go through all this to make clear that joseph isn't the father at all,but god is.
Jesus' mather mary is a virgin and God is the father directly, not the 77 men that luke gives us a list of.

mattehew tells us:

It is by the Holy Spirit that she has concived this child. All this has happend in order to fulfill what the Lord declared through the prophet "the virgin will concive and bare a son".

Yeah, they like to use him alot in commercials.

especially wine commercials

I remember in one episode of Family Guy and Simpons they used him as a funny figure, although it wasn't that funny.

I don't think it was the death and the pain that was so bad, it was being forsaken by God his father. When Jesus cried out " My God why have you forsaken me" , God has literally turned his face away from Jesus because at that moment Jesus became the sins of the world and the Bible says that God turns his face away from sin and that nothing sinful can stand and survive in the face of God. I think this was the worst part of all.

You know, that's just an assumption.
