It's most often met form is that used by Dr. Seuss. Therefore i assumed that's where you got it from, seeing as how that's where i personally knew it from. Presumptious of me, i'll admit.
As for Twain saying it.....i really really doubt it. However, you understand what i meant by my Dr. Seuss quote very well.

Indeed highly presumptious, its likely Twain said it as its an old quote, however in any book of quotes you will see its anonymous - Seuss is not big in the UK 🙂
