I know here the most technical were like 135 or something (back in the day), I'm not sure now.
when you put all the weights together, the 180-190 normally win it all, they got speed, and strength
No, they just have weight. The best wrestler in our state was a 130 or so, he didn't lose but a few matches. He was very strong.
The bigger you get the weaker you are pound for pound, it's that simple. But in a grappling sport like that the larger ones hold the advantage on the mat. And larger athletes aren't usually faster unless they're lean.
You weigh 180, that's more than faceman?. I don't remember you looking that big unless you're like 6'5 or taller. You seemed 150.

That is such a sad story

When my skeleton makes up a huge portion of my body weight, I'm pretty sure I've got to make every ounce of muscle I can pack into my body count.

Puny? I like to spend my time getting better by actually wrestling, not lifting weights. While you are bigger and look nicer, those hours you spent lifting heavy pieces of metal I spent actually wrestling.
Its less about lifting weights, I weigh 163 at ****ing 6'1... are builds are most likely similar. Technique isnt better in smaller weights, the matches are just faster paced.... Little guys just cry about technique because they have nothing else to brag about
and strength is a great attribute to have, anyman knows this, people who talk "all skill" are the ones who are naturally strong.
Strength works wonders in anything, physical, will it win a match for you alone??? no, but atheleticsm goes a long way
There's a difference between just big muscles and strength.
Some of the strongest people I've ever wrestled weren't big.
But yes, I agree it's not skill so much as speed. It's different and people don't like to differentiate.
I was just saying that being a big bulky weight lifter isn't a requirement, and the guys who hype it up as a requirement for being a good wrestler oftentimes aren't half as good as they claim.
Shit, everyone knows the most important physical attribute of a wrestler is their cardio anyways.
