They fear it in the way that people don't want get off the roller coaster. It's probably that they have free will and can exercise this, and so want to continue doing so. Other than that I don't know why they fear death. I suppose they'll miss friends and family, but still what is there to do? Humans are quite irrational.

Maybe it is because they will miss friends, and family... but this life is not everything. I think that to limitate ourselves to this personality is to have too much attachment to the futile pleasures of the human life. Sometime we will have to grow up and forget this basic way of living, in the same way we had to forget our toys when we where children.

Or someday forget living itself...

whaT A couple F##KING assholes. LOL!!!!!!!!!

Oh! I guess I can't read Spanish, I'm lucky I can read English. 😆

Death isn't so bad, neither is it so good; death is beyond good and bad; death is simply a refresher on the eternal path of life. Just as with life, we must also be able to laugh at death; do not take life and death too seriously, because if you don't laugh at life and death, it will laugh at you!

I know most of you have a strong desire to live...its in our nature...however step back for a second, would it really be so bad if death was total detachment? No more worries, trivial tasks, biological needs, you would finnaly be at peace. Death is something to look forward to if anything, not fear. I would actually be disappointed if I was reincarnated back to earth, one lifetime of this shit is enough for me 🙄
I agree with you but the pain one must feel before they die is something I do fear.

✅ That's what scares me,like what happens before you die? do you slowly feel your heart stop? your blood turning cold? Can you not breathe? and lay there and suffocate?

I think the fear of it would be more scary...But when your right in the midst of it, from what I've read, that many have came close to, it's more acceptance and peace...The fear of the unknown is what really gets ya.

I'm scared shitless of dying. I mean think about how the entire theory of the afterlife was created. It started hundreds of years ago when humans were frikin morons, and they created gods to explain anything unknown. I'm really confused if heaven even exists right now; it's such a scary ass thought.

Death's the only thing that requires little effort on your part 👆

My question to you is how would you know whether death is "so bad?" 🤨
Experienced it once or twice?

Death isn't so bad if you look at it in a philosophal perspective. It's the portal to the next life.

However, when you think of it physically...

Death is hard to understand...

I, myself, am afraid of death. The unknown part of it scares me. Should I really be scared? I don't know, I am though. When I was a young child, I always wanted to live forever, or a very long period of time. Why I wanted this, I never fully understood. The only reason, I could think of, is that it's just human nature to not want to die. Now that I think of it, death should be something to look forward to. There is no reason for me to live longer than what is needed. Every human is basically born, grows, matures, reproduces, and gives what he or she has learned, passes it on to their offspring. Then they die eventually of old age or of some other cause. That is a part of life. We should accept it, as much as we accept other things we believe in. The cycle then begins over. We are animals, with the basic principle of passing information on. To better understand ourselves, and everything around us. Death is inevitable. We can't think after we die. So, there is no use, trying to find out what it is like after you die.

IMO thinking of death when you're alive is a waste of life

If it's bad, then I don't want to think about it, It'll just ruin my life with fear and unease.

If it's good, then I'll see when I'm dead

Besides, it is impossible to know, so you can only guess. And there's way to many possibilities for that.

But that's just my view

Death is not all that bad. I don't think you should want to welcome it unless you're terminally ill. I will say that while death isn't all that bad, I don't want to ever experience any physical pain associated with it.

I do belive there is a life after death also....a place where for us lucky ones that we will enjoy peace.

Seems to me--as I read these threads devoted to death--that one can speak gingerly of it when one has no real experience of it, as in the death of a loved one (eg, a parent, spouse, sibling), or as in a personal, near-death episode (eg, brought on by disease or injury). Prior to this, with all due respect, a lot of intellectualization goes on.

When Death Terror is staring you in the face, it is a wholly different ball game.
