that's actually a very good point.

This is a typically American issue. Male nudity is a lot more common and accepted in European culture. That's why Cinemax and HBO only show foreign films early in the morning. I recall one French film that centered around a British student that moved to Paris and became friends with French twins, one male and one female. As I recall, there was full frontal nudity, both male and female, all through-out the movie. (Which I loved!)

You have to remember that this country was founded by religious fanatics that old England tossed out. This has had a lot to do with how this country has developed, as well as the puritan notion that anything remotely human is bad.

its also a money issue, a pg-13 film generaly stands to be able to make more at the box office. Female nudity attracts men and for the most part wont keep femals away. But male nudity will keep some males away.

Just saw Kinsey a few days ago and that contained a scene of frontal male nudity as wale as drawings and such.

I had a whole list of movies with male nudity and as I was reading this thread, they were all named. 😂

Female nudity is just more pleasing to look at. The male genetalia is ugly. You just see in more naked women than you do naked men in movies in general, from PG-13 to NC-17.

There ugly to men.They not so ugly to women.But in todays society most sex movie/comedies are trying to relate to men more than women.Maybe that needs to be fixed.

When male genitalia is shown on screen, men and even some women turn away. When female genitalia is shown on screen, everyone continues watching. I think that's the reason.

how do you know they turn away because they want to instead of turning away because they know people are looking.

In todays society people dont really think of women as liking sutff like that as much as men.

A Home at the End of the World, with Colin Farrell had him fully nude, those scenes were cut, too distracting for the test audience apparently 🙄 Must have been either huge or really small 😂 Rated R still.

Also, may have been a rumour solely, but Alexander was also supposed to feature him fully nude, those scenes never made it last I heard, and when I saw it, Rosario Dawson on the other hand was completely naked at times. Colin Farrell and Jared Leto go shirtless 🙄 It's also rated R.

I thought it had to do with the fact that most of a female's sex organs are hidden from view when she's naked.... I think if she spread her legs, the rating of the movie would spike dramatically.

Any Given sunday had full male nudity more of it then female nudity.
