no, its not that at all... i'm not saying you in particular dude, so if i get ranty, its not aimed at you in particular. there just seems to be this huge perception that magic, kryptonite and red sun radiation are just these magical 'off switches' that just immediately remove his powers, and thats just not true (except in smallville, but that doesnt count). How much they weaken him is very much based on their concentration and proximity to superman, its a gradual thing...

That maybe true but at the same time he still gets the nod on every high level feat he has ever done but other people's high end feats get talked about and debated a lot more than Superman's.

Except they have also shown to be that on off switch almost and even still a lot of people try to claim and show that they have no effect on Superman despite there being very opposite showings. That is what I get at with other characters Low showings are taken into account with Superman so many people are willing to disregard them it isn't funny.

nobody would seriously debate that panther's hold on surfer was legit, yet i saw someone bring up the gas station explosion from death of superman as a fair assessment of his durability... alot of people on this board still see him as nothing more than a flying brick, and thats incredibly unfair...

people realistically say that iceman could beat him... again, i say it... ICEMAN.

Because low showings and averages showings still need to be taken into account somewhat but that isn't the case with Superman he is always apparently on full go Super High Feat mode in debates.

thats because the nature of a green lantern's power is so specific... its oan energy, and it was a guardian wielding it... how many green lantern's are going to surpass that?

if the green lanterns modified their ring's output somehow, maybe they could affect him...

And actually it is assumed that the participants are fighting to the best of their abilities but still with CIS. They are not blood lusted unless otherwise noted.

consistency as much as high showings is what i meant to be talking about, not high showings...

logic and consistency are the main things... if you're debating for firelord, losing to spidey doesnt count does it? superman doesnt consistently get knocked out by gas station explosions, and surfer doesnt have hudlin or dwayne mcduffie writing him...

what annoys me though, is people who debate against superman simply because they dont like him...
