I know, I'm just saying that I haven't heard everything. Its also confusing to me when I think about it. I mean it Fits FNM, But I just don't know how to take it. I think its a mood thing.
As I (and you) just said- you are judging on one work, which is not only his first [recorded], but is unrepresentative of his oeuvre (not that The Real Thing isn't excellent).

O.k. the thread title says "The best voice ever", then you list your favoourite voice. Do you want our favourites, or what we think are the best?
These best drummer, best guitarist, best voice threads are a little silly. What does it matter? Do people need to have there favourites affirmed by others in order to validate their preferences? Music is so diverse, personal, objective, vast and open to interpretation and experimentation and there are so many genres that these questions are just ridiculous.
If you want our favourites, that's cool. If you want who we think is best, set out a rigid criteria as to which we can refer to in order to find the best candidate that matches said criteria. Or....you can just enjoy the music and forget about the competition as to who is the best.
I've been trying to get into Faith No More cause everyone says great things about Patton but I can never find any of their albums at Best Buy, and I've tried looking several times. However they do almost always have a Fantomas album in stock but I don't want to start off with Fantomas..
I mean I've downloaded an odd song from FNM here and there but I always judge artists off their albums.. songs are just little samples to see if I want to listen to the whole album.
As for best voice I'd say Chris Cornell.

Good choice, Cornell.
I'd definitely not start with Fantomas if you want to get into Patton. FNM first, then the others in any order.
